The same applies here. Men's torsos don't need to be covered because they don't have sexual organs there. However, the lower body does need to be covered from down to the knees. The basic principles are the same for both genders, but biological differences change their implementation. But it is OK for men to do so? In say, boxing? Or gymnastics? Surely they can wear a light t-shirt when boxing?
I have no issue with Malaysia being more liberal. What I am stating is my opinion, based on the religion of Islam, nothing else. Like I said, they have the freedom of choice.Bro, I appreciate your loyalty towards your religion ( this comes from an atheist ) but South East Asian Muslims are not the same compared with Middle East or South Asia.
Moreover, in Malaysia women wear head scarf also known as tTudong and not the infamous burqa. They are just not the same
PS: Google for Malaysian Airline air hostess
South Asian Muslims aren't too extreme with Burkas either. In fact, a very small number of Pakistani women wear burkas, and a growing number have stopped wearing Hijabs. All you need to do is have a look at Pakistani news presenters to gauge what is becoming normal, but if you want to see the more liberal side, there are fashion shows and whatnot.
I don't agree with most of what goes on in the latter, from a religious and moral perspective, but again, it's their choice and all I can do about it is express my disagreement.
I've heard many of them complaining about how increasingly shameless young men are becoming, but they don't get news coverage when they say things like that. It's only when they talk about women that the entire media goes crazy. Works both ways.So why is it that no cleric bleats about dress code when men do not cover their knees?
Where is the outrage here? Nobody is outraged. A cleric is expressing his opinion, and so are people on an internet forum. There is no ''outrage'' in the case of the women either. Just some disagreement.Where is the outrage?
