Fundamental rule of Islam my parsi friend is: You can not worship anyone or anything else but Allah swt. If you worship anything other than Allah swt then there is no way to repent. You are condemned to hell fire. There are certain stipulations, but the rule is a general one.

My point is not to call you all kafir because you called someone else kafir, rather I am highlighting the weight of such a statement. Apart rom jahil village mullahs, anyone with a basic understanding of fiqh will not declare anyone else a kafir unless they are absolutely sure. There are strict conditions which need to be fulfilled to make such a statement, historically it was done by someone with authority, like a mufti or a qazi.

IF this person has openly and publically declared that he is not a Muslim, or that he follows a god other than Allah, or has other prophets etc and he has died without renouncing this statement then it can be said he was not a muslim. If you have some doubt, or have not researched the issue to the length there can be no doubt, save yourself from such mistakes.

Kalam gave his alleigance to a non Muslim state, helping them advance in technology that would be used against Muslims. Kalam also held polytheistic scripture and deities in high nature.

Jinnah didn't do any of that, he just drank a little until the last few years of his life and wasn't the most practising.
