my condolences to the family.
maybe they shud remain inside their home during namaaz times
on the attitude of the guards, they shud be reprimanded heavily

Guards did what they get paid to do.

Their country, their rules. Muslims should abstain from praying in such places. There is no need for making a show.
This is not done by government. now Mr. Trimizi has filed law suite . let see what will be progressed.

some people do it on purpose.
there is always a discrete way of saying prayers without compromising the devotion and faith.
who knows if it was all planned.

in UK the AL Mohajiroon guys do some things and say things that are bound to cause a reaction and then use the victim card.

There are thousands of mosques in USA why not go and pray there. I am sorry i have seen some Muslims deliberately showing off to pray as if the world owe them something or they should all bow down with them.

I sometimes pray inside my car while sitting in a car park. Every University here has a Mosque or a Musallah - why not use that, why do i have to pray in the Biology lab or a lift?

I don't understand praying in crowded public places. Here in UK if there is no mosque near then there are always prayer rooms in many airports and large public buildings.

wonder if this same family does it in the royal quarters of Saudi Arabia.. they will not only be removed by force but jailed for unknown time too,

I know people who offer prayers on first time (afzal time) and time their outings journeys accordingly and if that cant be helped say it very discretely or would rather wait if in a middle of a place such as this .

Practicing ones religion is a good thing to do, but in such a way that it does not cause 'fitna'. In fact prayers should be performed in seclusion, because this is something very personal, and between Allah and his worshiper. As @Aeronaut has said, there is no need to make a show of your piousness. American/European culture is very different than what we see in Islamic countries. They are very disciplined people who have designated certain places for certain businesses/purposes. There is nothing wrong in saying a 'qaza' prayer, it is better than attracting unnecessary attention of bystanders, and raising suspicion. When we will learn?

US should start fining these kinds of people, iam sure this family must have sued the building too :P
