Most members know that I am a liberal, anti-mullah & anti-extremist. I am also proud to be as much free of bias against non-Muslims as is possible for a Muslim.
I have no problem with PTI Gov't paying for the construction of a Hindu temple. I do however question the need of building a temple in Islamabad. As Ch. Pervez Elahi mentioned; if you genuinely want to help Hindu Pakistanis, in addition to repairing existing temples, build new ones in the areas where Hindus live in numbers so that these temples are put to good use.
Majority of the Pakistani followers of Hindu religion are found in Sindh. Most of the Hindus I came across were in Tharparker, Umerkot, and in Mirpur Khas. In Punjab, one could find some Hindu population in the old Bhawalpur State.
I would guess that PTI gov't is not doing this for helping the Hindu community of Pakistan, but only as a Public Relations exercise. Few in the outside world would know even if 10 new temples are built in Umerkot & Tharparkar. On the other hand every foreign visitor in Islamabad can be shown the new temple in Islamabad. I abhor hypocrisy and only, for this reason, I do not support building a new Hindu temple in the Capital.
