I always thought Musharraf was a traitor and coward, especially after that video of him begging before American lawmakers to 'support' him back to power. Gen Hamid Gul was no doubt a great patriotic pakistani but when we feel jealous,envy or whatever type of competition hatred our judgement gets impaired.
Someone who fought three wars for pakistan,spent a night along his soldiers in combat area ,risked his life not once but many times can be anything but not a traitor.

Gen Hamid Gul is lucky, who never been questioned for failed " Jalalabad operation" defeated by the same Jihadis , who we supporting now, we lost hundreds of soldiers and that was his brainchild and forced the parliament to support his idea.

His premise for Pakistani Taliban was that they started because Pakistan/Musharraf giving in to American demands and effectively becoming American slaves in WoT. And Musharraf started operations and drone strikes against them. They wanted badal for their loved ones killed. Hence they turned against state.

He also realized that after this genesis of TTP. It was taken over by Indians, NDS, CIA and Mossad. And he had been saying this for a long long time even before Pakistani state started waking up. Stopped believing that America was there only for "terrorists" but in reality it was there for Pakistan and China.
