LAHORE: The Lahore Metro Bus infrastructure at Azadi Chowk, Bhati Gate and Shahdara sustained considerable damage through vandalism on Monday.

Requesting anonymity, a senior official of the Punjab Mass-Transit Authority (PMA) said that criminal elements present at the protest following the execution of slain governor’s killer had attacked the metro bus terminals at Azadi Chowk, Bhati Gate and Shahdara and damaged installations. “Initial estimates put the loss at Rs9 million. The saboteurs broke glass and stole fans, CCTV cameras and other electronic equipment. Some of them also pelted metro buses with stones. They also stole onboard units used to monitor bus operations. Speed gates at metro stations were also broken at all three stations,” he said.

He said the authority would register an FIR against the people. “The authority has footage of the attacks at its datacentres. It will be handed over to the police when required. At all three locations, groups of six to eight people did the damage,” he said. He said the authority had limited the bus operations from Gajjumata and MAO Collage to avoid further losses. He said that on Tuesday the authority had suspended the Rawalpindi Metro Bus operations. “After Mumtaz Qadri’s funeral, the authority restored the operations in Rawalpindi at 5pm,” he said.

This isn't the first time. I remember communities of Youhanadabd and political activists of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri also did significant damage. Who will you catch and won't catch when every person is f*cked up in one way or another.

I am not Qadri supporter...... but I just can't stand hypocrisy sometimes........

Look,.......there was gathering of about one and half million....... no body died, no mass damage took place, no bazaar was set on fire....unlike most of times in Pakistan... they showed discipline and tolerance..... way way more than any political gathering you can have in Pakistan........

So don't create storm in a tea cup....... when such mass gathering take place, of course some crazy head people try to over react to prove them selves oversmart........ but over all it was very exemplary gathering, which Thank God thank God ended with peace......

in pakistan people have extra liberty about religious issues ... for years our govts breed different religious fictions for their own purposes according to wikipedia about 40,000 madrasahs are in paksitan, where the money is coming to run them ??? what are the regulations ???? what curriculum they offers to students??? according to MEI during last few years more than 4000 people have been killed in pakistan in sectarian violence .. do we really need external enemy to kill us ???? we are self sufficient to kill our own nation.... sad but true ...

Infact this whole Janaza of Qadri was a lollywood movie which flopped due to lack of advertisement. Religious political parties wanted this ocassion to gain some public support but failed to incite the masses.
