Hard to see how a murder charge would stick unless the organizers specifically called for it. If all they asked for was a peaceful protest, but some individuals got out of hand, the prosecutors would need to identify those specific individuals.

Not necessary. If it can be proved that Organizers had knowledge that during protest there may be a chance of mob turning violent and killing people, they can be charged with Murder.
