Calling Mughals Proto-Mohajirs is non-sense.......Mohajir is not a race, even Afghans in Pakistan are called Mohajirs, so are Rohingyas of Burma.
The Urdu-wans indigenous to UP and Bihar, are not even political successors of Mughal empire. Court language of Mughals was Dari which is spoken in Afghanistan and Iran, not UP and Bihar. The mother tongue of the initial mughal rulers was Turki which makes them connected with Turkistan. In fact Babur is considered a national hero by Uzbekistan. By the time of Bahadur Shah Zafar, Mughals were no longer the Mughals. Bahadur Shah Zafar can be called Urdu-wan but not Babur, Humayun , Akbar etc
There was little, if nothing Mughal about Bahadur Shah Zafar. He got called "Aakhri Mughal" more as a formality of being connected with the lineage.
