MQM MPA Shot Dead

Bhai Jan; Army nay poora zor laga liya tha. Kia MQM ko Khatam kar liya?

Army say hum naheen dartay.

Hahaha nice bloody joke... but reality hurts?

After tht ops karachi remained quiet peaceful remember?
MQM is the same party whose faggot leader burnt Pakistani Flag and called the creation of Pakistan a mistake remember?

Under Musharaf when mqm was in government it was again peacefull... looks like mqm wants power thts why its disturbing the peace of karachi?

MQM should forget karachi is oqned by its daddy.. coz it doesnt belongs to PAKISTANIS (ALL CITIZENS).

Both of MQM n ANP are dirty and its time to clean up or an operation would become iminent and tht will clean sweep mofo target killers n supporters.

Time doesnt give second chances.

Well, sip-e-sahaba is gift of afghan war and Uncle Zia. Now anyone who has conflict of ideology, about religion, get ready to die. We shia been facing the death, the day Zia walk inn killing and kill the democracy in this country.
Nothing new, but I would say just for the sake of peace, people should not burn the property of innocent people.
Well, as far as MQM attitude and politics, I see big change, because this party will be third power of Pakistan. Historically every party was local or regional party, later they emerge as national party. If we want to take neutral analysis of whole situation, MQM emerges from the atrocities done by Gohar Ayub and his clan in 60 and 70, when they did mass murder of Karachi people. But We all should pray for peace and people emphasis more on education, that's the only tool to bring peace and understand among cults, groups and tribes.

Joint team to probe MQM MPA’s murder: Malik

Tuesday, August 03, 2010

By Muhammad Anis

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday said a joint investigation team, headed by DIG Police and consisting of representatives of IB, ISI and MI, had been constituted to probe the killing of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Raza Haider.

Rehman Malik told the Senate the MQM MPA Raza Haider had been receiving threats from a banned organisation but the investigation team would keep its mind open. He said the investigation team would be headed by DIG West Sultan Khawaja.

ìI will soon meet the MQM leadership to discuss the situation,î Malik said. The minister urged the people of Karachi to remain calm and peaceful as the killing of the political leadership was part of the agenda to destabilise Pakistan.

ìI will appeal to the MQM to refrain from showing any reaction before completion of investigations,î he said, adding that the enemies of the country were trying to destabilise Pakistan by hitting its economic hub.“By taking a united stand, we will have to foil the designs of the enemy who wants to destabilise the country,” he said.

Rehman Malik said he has also talked to the Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandyar Wali Khan, who has condemned this incident. The minister said he was not convinced that Lashkar-e-Jhangvi or Sipah-e-Sahaba might be involved in the killing of the MQM MPA.

Haji Adeel Khan of the ANP on a point of order said attacks on his party offices had started following the killing of the MQM leader. He wanted to speak further but his party colleague Afrasiyab Khattak asked him to sit down.

.
I think Altaf Hussian and Asfandyar Wali Khan negotiate the Muhajir-Pakhtun conflict Karachi. The ANP Sindh leader Shahi Syed has been accused of being involved in target killings, part of land and transport mafia in Karachi. Shahi Syed will not be welcomed by MQM as part of ANP team.

.
i know bro and when i asked my friends what's the point of killing innocent people who had nothing to do with it! they said we need to show our power or they (i think ANP or pashtuns) will kill us more!! i don't understand this stupid logic!!
With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Excuse my ignorance, can someone give 10,000 feet overview of what is going on between ANP and MQM and a brief history? Thanks

MQM accuses ANP of killing

KARACHI: The MQM’s Coordination Committee has accused the “terrorists of the Awami National Party” of the target killing of MQM’s Sindh Assembly member Raza Haider. Committee member Wasay Jalil told Daily Times that the MQM was sure that ANP’s Sindh President Shahi Syed and the party’s terrorists were behind the ongoing target killing incidents in the city, including that of Raza Haider. Jalil quoted a statement by the ANP Sindh president during a press conference a few days ago that the “ANP knows how to take revenge” and said the MQM Coordination Committee would chalk out its future strategy over the recent target killing incidents. MQM provincial Youth Affairs Minister Faisal Sabzwari said Haider’s murder was a tragic incident, adding that party chief Altaf Hussain had appealed to his party workers to remain peaceful. Sabzwari, while talking to a private TV channel, said leaders and workers of the MQM had been targeted in the past in order to destabilise law and order in the city. MQM’s National Assembly member Haider Abbas Rizvi told a private TV channel that the death of Raza Haider was an irreparable loss for the MQM, adding that it was a conspiracy to destabilise the city and an attempt to disrupt the economy of the country. staff report

MQM accuses ANP of killing

KARACHI: The MQM’s Coordination Committee has accused the “terrorists of the Awami National Party” of the target killing of MQM’s Sindh Assembly member Raza Haider.

ANP is a social democratic party but its leadership and membership in Karachi is filled with criminals and militants. Shahi Syed head of Sindh ANP is the prime suspect in this murder. It is now up to ANP's central leadership and Asfandyar Khan to cleanup the ANP Sindh. Shahi Syed is now a dead man walking as his days are numbered.

Bloodshed in Karachi after MQM MPA Raza Haider killed

KARACHI: Violence triggered by the murder of Raza Haider, a senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and member of the Sindh Assembly, here on Monday claimed at least 35 lives, according to officials at the police surgeon office.

Mr Haider was gunned down, along with his police guard, in the Jama Masjid in Nazimabad, where he had gone to attend the funeral of the mother of a friend.

“The number of attackers and the mode of their transport are not clear, but initial investigations suggest that there were more than two people who came on a motorcycle and they were probably backed by armed men in a car,” said an officer at the Nazimabad police station.

“They first shot at the legislator’s guard Khalid Khan and then entered the mosque and fired at Mr Haider who was in the ablution room.”

Both of them were hit by two bullets fired from a close range. The bullets hit them in the head and on the upper part of the body. Police said that AK-47 rifle and 9mm pistol were used in the attack and the spent bullets were found at the scene.

As the bodies were taken to the Abbassi Shaheed Hospital, the city descended into near anarchy.

Scattered violence, including arson attacks and intense firing, in different areas claimed at least 35 lives.

Over 20 vehicles and a number of restaurants and shops were set on fire.

The Jinnah Postgraduate and Medical Centre received 13 bodies and Civil Hospital and Abbassi Shaheed Hospital two each. The other bodies were taken to different hospitals in the city. Some of the injured died in hospitals.

The city police chief set up a team, headed by DIG West Sultan Khawaja and comprising three SSPs, to investigate the murder.

Capital City Police Officer Waseem Ahmed said Mr Haider had been under threat and he had been provided adequate security.

“Six police guards, including four at his residence, were at the legislator’s service,” he said. “We have approached the leadership of political parties to get the situation normalised and planned adequate security for Tuesday’s funeral of the MPA.”

The MQM leadership came up with serious allegations against the Awami National Party, an ally in the PPP-led coalition government in Sindh.

Faisal Hussain Sabzwari, MQM’s deputy parliamentary leader in the Sindh assembly, said the ANP leadership was in nexus with extremist elements and mafias.

“Arrests of a number of targeted-killing suspects and extremist elements from their (ANP) strongholds are indicators of fault lines,” he added.

The murder of the legislator also sparked violent protests in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.

Karachi burns in wave of violence

KARACHI: At least 35 persons were killed and more than two dozen vehicles, shops, teashops and carts parked on roadsides were set ablaze in the wake of the assassination of Syed Raza Haider, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement member of the Sindh Assembly, in Nazimabad on Monday.

Personnel of the law-enforcement agencies were also attacked amid the fear and chaos that gripped the city after the incident.

The city descended into anarchy as congested neighbourhoods of the city rattled with gunfire, forcing the closure of business centres, shops, petrol pumps and marriage lawns, bringing life to almost a virtual standstill. The city wore a blackout look when the streetlights in almost all major commercial and residential areas were switched off.

The MQM MPA was gunned down inside the Jama Masjid, near the Inquiry Officer in Nazimabad 2, with his armed police guard where he was attending the funeral of his friend’s mother. Minutes after his killing, the city saw the outbreak of deadly violence as the police and Rangers made little effort to control it.

An armed attack on a Rangers mobile in Pak Colony left two personnel wounded. Similarly, a police vehicle came under attack in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Three policemen were wounded in the attack.

Areas in the West and East zones of the police organisational structures witnessed the most serious violence, as neighborhoods in both the mainstream city districts rattled with gunfire minutes after the Nazimabad incident.

By sunset, nearly six vehicles were set on fire in two areas. As the violence spread, 13 vehicles, mostly buses, six teashops and restaurants were set on fire in different areas, including Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Orangi Town, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Baldia Town, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi, Korangi, Federal B Area and Lines Area.

The central fire station also registered that a market of old furniture in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, a carpet showroom in Buffer Zone and nearly 20 pushcarts parked on a roadside in Shah Faisal Colony were set on fire. However, an official there said fire tenders could be sent only for three burning vehicles as security reasons prevented them from sending firefighters to other spots of arsons.

Indiscriminate firing in different areas left at least 35 people dead and over 80 wounded were received by major hospitals of the city.

“We have received 10 bodies with gunshot wounds from different areas,” said Dr Seemi Jamali at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. “Currently, we have 38 gunshot wounded with some of them having multiple wounds. Definitely some of them are really serious and need to be operated upon.”

Bodies lay unattended in the JPMC mortuary. Some of them were later identified as Umair, 22, brought dead from Abul Hasan Ispahani Road; Imam Bux, 30, brought from Korangi 5; Shahid Hussain, 30; brought from Landhi 6, and Noor Zaman, 35, gunned down in New Karachi.

Similarly two bodies were received by the Civil Hospital Karachi. One of them was identified as 28-year-old Imran, shot dead in Kharadar.

At night, when guns fell silent and the police backed by the Rangers emerged to patrol the affected areas, the city wore an abandoned look and fear prevailed in every corner of the metropolis. The heat of the violence, however, is not likely to go soon as the MQM leadership came up with serious allegations against their partner in the coalition government, the Awami National Party, saying that their “fears have turned into reality”.

“Assassinated MPA Raza Haider was on record having raised his voice against criminal elements in particular pockets of the city,” said the MQM’s deputy parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly Faisal Hussain Sabzwari. “He was under threat for being outspoken. And we know who are behind his murder. They are the same elements who were involved in the recent targeted killing of our people and attack on our offices.”

He accused the ANP leadership of being a nexus between extremist elements and the mafias, and thus it was returning such results to the city.

“Only last week ANP Sindh chief Shahi Syed had stated that they knew how to take revenge, and that arms were a source of pride for the Pakhtuns. Similarly, arrests of extremist elements and leaders of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in their stronghold are self-explanatory in defining their tilt and loyalty,” added Mr Sabzwari.

The ANP, however, this time avoided counter allegations and demanded fair investigations into Syed Raza Haider’s murder. ANP leader Amin Khattak claimed “fair and free” investigations under competent police officers could unfold ‘strange facts’.

“We don’t want to indulge in blame game,” he said. “It’s everyone’s loss and we should only demand fair and free investigations. If it really happens, you, we and every single person of this city will come to know about some strange facts that who actually is behind all these acts of violence.”
