Gumm' to be the first film to hit local cinemas in 2019

LAHORE: Upcoming feature film Gumm is all set to kick the year off, releasing on January 11, 2019, at cinemas all around the country. In this connection, the film’s production team is elbows deep in running various promotional campaigns.

“The Distribution Club will be sending in an application to the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), Punjab Film Censor Board (PFCB) and Sindh Film Censor Board (SFCB) soon for a censor certificate,” a senior member of the Distribution Club told The Express Tribune. “We think there will be should be no reason for them not to issue a clearance certificate as Gumm is a complete family film,” he shared.

Everything You Need to Know About ‘Heer Maan Ja’

IRK productions and Arif Lakhani films have finally announced their next film today with a poster release. We had already updated our readers earlier in our article on upcoming films of 2019, that next film by IRK is already under production with Hareem and Ali Rehman in lead roles while nothing was announced officially till then. Well now finally the cat is out of the bag with the title “Heer Maan Ja“.

Directed by Azfar Jafri, “Heer Maan Ja” is fourth film of Jafri under Imran Raza Kazmi’s productions after “Siyaah“, “Janaan” and “Parchi“. While cast of the film includes Ali Rehman Khan, Hareem Farooq, Faizan Shlekh, Abid Ali, Mojiz Hasan and Shamyale Nasir, script of the film is penned by a new writer Owais Korai Baloch and choreography of songs is done by multi talented Osman Khalid Butt who previousely choreographed the songs for “Parchi“. Film is said to be a romantic comedy and we can also expect it to be a visual treat as Rana Kamran has done the cinematography and for editing once again Mitesh Soni has been taken onboard. Also Sahara and Manj music, after “Parchi“, once again feature on the movie’s roster of musicians.

“Heer Maan Ja” is scheduled to release in cinemas on Eidul Azha 2019 and will be distributed in Pakistan by Distribution Club.

Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa to reunite for 'Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 3'

Pakistani film industry’s arguably most famous movie franchise, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is coming back for a third installment.

According to Humayun Saeed’s latest Instagram posts, it is expected that the original cast of JPNA 2, will be returning for the next installment.

Project ghazi release date is confirmed

Project Ghazi is an action film, directed by Nadir Shah. Let’s hope the makers have done a good job this time around and the movie impresses us.

The film will be distributed by IMGC and will hit the screens on 22nd March.

Upcoming Balochi movie " DODA ". Can't wait to watch it on big screen.

The teaser of Pakistan’s first Baluchi full-length feature film since 1976, “Doda” premiered yesterday on digital platforms on the internet. Launched in both the Urdu and Baluchi versions, the minute long teaser presents a flavor of the film’s storyline, which revolves around the life of an up and coming boxer from Lyari, Karachi.

The last Baluchi language feature film was “Hammalo Mahganj” in 1976, which unfortunately never made it to theaters. While many low-budget Baluchi films since have made it to video or digital, “Doda” is the first feature length production in the Baluchi language that is aimed for a wide theatrical release in the country.

Speaking exclusively with PakistaniCinema.net, the film’s director Adil Bizanjo revealed that it has been shot extensively around Lyari and the Gadani shipbreaking yard near Hub. Describing the movie’s story, he revealed that “The film’s story revolves around the ups and downs in the life of an upcoming boxer, the hurdles he has to face because of his decisions, and the problems that are created by the society.”

Clarifying any comparisons with the 2016 film “Shah”, he added that “The film is completely different, as Shah revolved around the life and times of a famous boxer, Hussain Shah, from Lyari.”

So model Zara Abid is making her debut as an actress and will be starring as the leading lady in a film directed by Azeem Sajjad.
For those unaware Azeem is the dude who directed the B grade film 8969 which got recognition only because somehow Saba Qamar was a part of the trashy project. If we were you Zara, we would proceed with caution!

'Pinky Memsaab' to screen at UK Asian Film Festival

After opening to mixed reviews last year in Pakistan, Pinky Memsaab is set to screen at the upcoming 21st UK Asian Film Festival. Last year, Mahira Khan’s Verna was showcased at the prestigious film fest.

The theme of the film, as the lead character of the film, Mehr narrates is,“Kuch cheezen door se bohot achi lagti hain, per paas jao… toh woh baat rehti hi nahi. (Some things look very admirable from afar, but when you come closer, it’s just not the same.”
