i have mixed feelings about this... the lady should have been practical and saved herself... surely, children can come later... surely, children can be adopted... i don't see why the doctors didn't prevail on her.

It's her decision, I have zero knowledge about the medical thing, I remember one of Indian members is medical student in China, I try to tag him but can't remember his ID. I think the doctors must have tried their best to save both lives if any chance they have, I also believe the mother would love to see her baby by herself, everyone has eagerness to live.

Its hard to understand people's reasoning, my friend. But this was her's and in a way it is exemplary of Mother's instincts.

This goes back to the autonomy of the patient.

edison, that is quite a philosophical wording... and what you said must have created much sadness in the lady... and nihonjin raises important points... so does "nan yang" at top of page# 2.

i think this story should be provoke a decision in the world medical community that in such situations, it is compulsory for doctors to save the mother... will relieve so much dilemma.
