Morocco would have shown an interest in purchasing the Pakistani jet Joint Fighter-17 (JF-17). The device is built by Pakistan and China will next week be presented in Marrakesh.
According to Al Massae Pakistani delegation will visit the Red city on the occasion of the 5th edition of the Marrakech International Air Show (27-30 April).
Pakistan hopes to persuade Morocco to buy the single-engine multipurpose fighter jet. The country thus intends to persuade other African countries to invest in the JF-17.
Morocco had already during the Singapore Airshow 2010 expressed interest in the unit. However, the Kingdom had not complied with the negotiations.

Kiosque360. A delegation of Pakistani aviation industry PACs'est visited Marrakech. Objective: to promote the Sino-Pakistani JF-17 Thunder fighter from the Royal Air Forces (FRA).
Morocco will he finally ordering the Sino-Pakistani JF-17 fighter bomber Thunder? This is the purpose of moving a high-level delegation sent by the Pakistani aviation industry, known by the acronym PAC (Pakistan aeronautical complex), says Al Massae, in its edition of the weekend of 23 and 24 April.
According to the Arabic daily, the delegation would have presented in the "C" flag of the military base in Marrakech, a comprehensive presentation on the JF-17 Thunder, a collaboration between Pakistan and China.
As reported Le360, in its edition of 22 December 2015, a model of this multi-mission aircraft is expected at Marrakech Air Show, scheduled for 27 April instant.
The movement of the Pakistani delegation to Marrakech comes as tidibits indicate that the royal Air Forces (FRA) have expressed interest in the acquisition of JF-17 Thunder. Pakistani fighter aircraft JF-17 Thunder will be exhibited at Marrakech Air Show, a first. This inexpensive device is the result of cooperation between China and Pakistan. Pakistan hopes to sell some models in the Moroccan army.

The plane Pakistani JF-17 Thunder fighter to conquer the Moroccan market. Models of this affordable unit will be exhibited at the new edition of Marrakech Air Show, scheduled from April 27 to 30 in the ocher city. Pakistanis aspire to take a few light mono-reactors royal air forces. For this they rely on their main asset: the price.
A JF-17 costs only $ 15 million. This price is within the reach of developing countries armies, particularly those with low budgets. Morocco is there in part? The kingdom, despite its limited financial resources, has repeatedly shown that it does not skimp on the means to acquire aircraft performing combat French or American manufacture. At stake is the maintenance of military balance with Algeria.
Political considerations?
The FJ-17 could replace the old MiG-21, F-5 Tiger II and Mirage III, says a Pakistani media. However, the kingdom has already spent 400 million euros in the modernization of 27 Mirage F-1, acquired between 1978 and 1982, and by equipping Mirage 2000. A technology contract that the Royal Air Force had told the French manufacturer Sagem -Thalès. This ambitious renovation of the old fleet of fighter aircraft program has also benefited 24 units of F-5 Tiger, bought by Morocco in the 70s.
The combat aircraft JF-17 is the result of cooperation between China and Pakistan. The two countries signed in 1995 a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop and produce a new fighter, giving birth in 2003 to the JF-17 Thunder. "Performance-wise, it can fly at an altitude of 17,000 meters, the maximum speed of Mach 1.6, with its Russian Klimov RD-bill 93 engine," says a specialized media.
The same source said that the army of Pakistan Air during raids on Taliban positions in the tribal areas bordering with Afghanistan, prefers to engage much its F-16 US-built as the JF-17.
A possible acquisition of Royal Air Forces of JF-17 models could obey political considerations and not the technical performance of the unit. This could be a nod to China while King Mohammed VI prepares his trip to Beijing.

RMAF is quite interested in the F-16 - JF-17 combo. It will have similar capabilities to that of PAF.
JF-17 BLOCK III would be best replacement for Morocco's Mirage F-1. They would give them massive boost and they would get great Fighter Jets with no strings attached.

According to http://www.arabaviation.com/en-us/airpower/moroccanairforce.aspx
The total number of Aircraft in Morocco:
Commander of the Air Force: Major Gen. Ahmed Bou-Taleb
Air Force Personnel Strength: 13,500
Inventory Summary:
  • Combat: 76 (total), 62 (in service)
  • Transport: 45 (total), 43 (in service)
  • Helicopters: 130 (total), 120 (in service)

Morocco needs to replace F-1's and F-5's. This is 64 aircraft in all.

For the price what Morocco has paid for the 24 F-16's Block 52's, Morocco can purchase 72 JF-17's Block I's. If they are going to replace only 54 aircraft then JF-17 Block II's are available in the same amount.

This would be a total of approximately 5 sqd comprising 2 F-16 Block 52 & 3 JF-17 Block II.
This number would increase the existing aircraft and all would be operational.

RMAF is quite interested in the F-16 - JF-17 combo. It will have similar capabilities to that of PAF.

Would be nice to see 12-24 plane order would be fantastic for program
