More than half of Americans think Iraq war ended in stalemate

Actually, this withdrawal is a cruel joke - a political stunt to fulfill an election promise. The no. of Americans in the US Embassy at IRAQ is somewhere around 20,000, that in itself tells that the civilians in that embassy will be doing more than issuing VISAs. Explained by a former Indian Ambassador to Iraq.

It doesn't matter much to the champions of human rights, after all, Muslim blood is cheaper. It becomes a crime of the century when one or two or let's say a few dozen israelis die.

No, stop fomenting these baseless sentiments. Its the poor whose life is cheap and is the case everywhere in the world. The unfortunate reality of Muslim countries on top of everything is that the Christian, Jew or Hindu majority countries are not fighting with each other but sadly a lot of "Islamic" countries are fighting with them. Not only that they are fighting (or fought) with each other - Iraq-Iran, Saudi Arabia-Iran, Pakistan-A'stan.

I am talking about 'collateral damage' and it's a fact, I don't entertain baseless sentiments. All Muslims are terror suspects, now, you can deny that with all your indian wit, but that is a fact Muslims know only too well. Islamophobia in Europe and america is not a fantasy or your so-called 'conspiracy theory', it's a fact and we know it for we're at the receiving end of this fear and hatred.

Going into Iraq was a stupid decision. Basically, the USA hoped to overthrow Saddam Hussein and then nurture a democratic, secular Arab society. The stupidity was to think that Arab Muslims were capable of creating a stable democracy. They clearly are not. Hence, the American people sacrificed thousands of young American lives and a trillion dollars of resources for a people who were not worthy of this sacrifice. It is always stupid to try to help a people who will not help themselves .....

PS. This is also the reason that trying to help Vietnam and Afghanistan was stupid. And, in like manner, it would be stupid for the USA to try to help Pakistan when Pakistan, is, clearly, unable to be helped.

Guess what sir? US/West got f*cked up pretty badly !!! Its not about "Arab Muslims are 'capable' of establishing a secular democracy" ...The QUESTION , you apparently don't seem to understand , is whether Arab world want to establish a secular democracy or not ...Its pretty clear that Arabs do not want any thing known as secular democracy. Arabs want a Muslim democracy in which Islam plays a crucial role. West threw out Christianity from their society and Christianity is effectively a dead religion in the West..In the Arab/Muslim world ... things are different. Just look at it

Young Arabs brought revolution or Arab spring ... These are the results

1-Tunisia : Islamic party won the elections , secular governmnet was replaced

2-Egypt : Islamic parties OVERWHELMINGLY sweeped the elections, secular dictatorship was ruined

3-Libya: Leave aside secular govt....heck ! they are going towards extreme Islam

4-Tukey: The pure secular democracy currently ruled by an Islamic party, which is the most successful party in the history of country...not "secular" parties but the "Islamic party" is the one with most success

5-Pakistan Inshallah Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf is coming to power, a party that wants to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state/Muslim democracy , NOT a "secular" democracy!!! Few people in Western media calls Imran Khan as "Islamist leader" :woot:

From ALL the above examples, what pattern do you see?

Muslims don't want your "secular" democracy..they want their Islamic democracy where Islam plays a central but positive progressive role in the society !!!

Poor US ....threw away its dream of new American century in hope that 'incapable' Muslims would somehow establish a secular democracy in their countries. In the end, forget about new secular govt. in Iraq, Arab spring swept away the already existing secular govts in the Arab world too

Brother, you've stated the fact quite convincingly. Thanks mate!

This is quite a remarkable statement. Could it be that Pakistan has, within its borders, more terrorists than all the western countries combined? Think about it. Do you think this is something to brag about?

You are poorly informed as usual.

These were al Qaida terrorist who came out of Afghanistan and were hiding in Pakistan.

Pakistan captured those Al Qaida terrorist and handed them over to the US ( more than 400 terrorist ).

These people were not Pakistani citizens and were not indigenous to Pakistan.

Have a question , how is a Islamic republic different from the secular democracy in terms of rights of people of different religion .

old man, Vietnam is doing far better now than it was under US management where you gassed and killed Vietnamese for fun. They have a functional socialist democracy, though with some problems, is vastly preferable to being human test subjects for chemical weapons.

China has helped them experience the greatness of socialism, and only when they deviated from our successful example did they run into problems.

It is a joke to expect Afghanistan, a land with no railroads and an average fertility of 6, to have anything close to secular democracy. When the Soviets tried to teach them the benefits of socialism, they also resisted, so its better to leave them in the stone age.

Many would like to finish off the war in Afghanistan by taking the war into Pakistan, I hear a few Generals say they compare Pakistan to Cambodia. plenty of neocons would love to carpet bomb Pakistan like Cambodia.

You amuse me. You start a thread that i think is interesting and a topic i would like to comment then immediately follow it up in a couple of posts comparing Pakistan to Cambodia! ?
If you wanted to discuss Cambodia being like Pakistan then why start a thread and derail it yourself immediately mr falseflagger?
Is it a wet dream you have of someone carpet bombing Pakistan? - you really are so transparent.
BTW - Didnt realize Cambodia had nukes and the 5th largest army on the planet? - keep dreaming..

Have a question , how is a Islamic republic different from the secular democracy in terms of rights of people of different religion .

Well there is no difference really...Also what is secular democracy? WEST is great but this doesn't mean that secular democracy of India would be as good as West's...Same goes for Islamic republics all over the world..As a country develops and come close to becoming a "developed" country, rights of its people get better (practically speaking..not "constitutionally" ) .... Lets make India an Islamic republic :cheesy: Ok ok don't take out your pistol to shoot..I was just kidding :D

No problem  I hope truthseeker sees it and respond to it..It is always good to hear different point of views :smokin:

Mr. AUz. I totally agree with you that Arab societies do not now seem to want to establish secular democratic governments. Our (the USA) thinking that they could, or would want to, was part of our stupidity in overthrowing Saddam Hussein. BUT, the jury is still out as to whether these societies can establish and maintain a stable democracy, of any kind .......

Going into Iraq was a stupid decision.

There are no 'stupid' decisions. There were no Al-Qaeda in Iraq in 2003, Shias & Sunnis were co-existing & living peacefully with one another despite Saddam's brutality against the Kurds & Shias. Now Iraq is the hub of Al-Qaeda terrorism. With the increasing US involvement in the Middle East & North Africa due to the Arab Spring, that has led to the rise in the AQAP & AQIM/Al-Shabaab respectively.
