What's new

More than 300 million Indians suffer from a crippling drought

LOL..... when did I say you cared ? :cheesy:

Its well established that you don't. I don't think the rest of the world has any illusions about that, despite what your media tells you.

You have been begging pakistan for help with your 'war on terror', I don't think India has similar policy :P But its funny to see that you think you can tell us what to do. You can't, so don't even bother.

India will do what it has to, to ensure our existence. I suggest you mind your own business.

People do not do it because they want to, they do it because they don't have a choice.

You are absolutely correct in this regard. Sugar cane as a cash crop is very poor but people still plant it as its the only income I guess.

The government need to get people proper employment where people dont toil for a pittance planting sugar cane and at the same time deplete precious water resources. The current set up is lose lose.

Reading the article made me sad - especially the part where the mother committed suicide.

A Farmer lives a life of incredible risk. Every day is on prayer and hope with no social security to fall back on.

High reward is the only way one can justify this risk. Cash crop offers that.

Education is the way forward, then economic opportunity and easy availability of funds for enterprises. All this without damaging the environment and polluting the world so that the "Have's" can live of the misery of the "Have nots" while pontificating the morality of it all.

Why do you care ???

if you live in israel you should seek ways of resolving the israel-palestine issue... if you live in israel and are of indian origin you must be tending towards internationalism because crossing borders should give you a new perspective that might not have been available in your family or local community or peers in india.

you live there, like @Abingdonboy lives in britain - a second or third generation, yet you two do not find common cause with the progressives in india but strangely support the reactionaries in india... this is wrong.

Oh... so now you talk like a patriotic? ?? Who the hell are you ??? I'm an Indian and I'll run my mouth in any business about India and I certainly don't have to answer a radical like you.
