More Afghani immigrants than Pakistani in India

There were more illegal Afghanis than Pakistanis living in India in the year 2009. However, the most number of illegal immigrants living in the country were Bangladeshis. Information provided under the Right To Information Act by the Home Ministry has said that it was impossible to
estimate the total number of illegal foreign immigrants, who have entered the country without valid documents.

The country-wise list provided points out that there were over 13,500 illegal immigrants from Afghanistan and about 7,700 from Pakistan in 2009.

Among Afghanis and Pakistanis there were many Hindus and Sikhs, who were overstaying after their visa expired. The immigrants had come to India to obtain Indian citizenship, the reply said and added that data regarding them is not maintained by the ministry.

The highest number of immigrants, 32,600, were from Bangladesh, which is much less than the unofficial claims on illegal Bangladeshi migrants in India. Many Bangladeshis, it is believed, have got voter identity cards and ration cards.

The list provided also states that there were illegal migrants from Tibet in India. The reply defines Tibet as stateless and their number was less than 300.

Among India's neighbours, Sri Lanka also has a high number of illegal immigrants - about 2,500.

The ministry has also revealed that during the year 2009, 12,147 foreign nationals, including five Pakistani nationals and 10,602 Bangladeshi nationals, were deported from the country.

Well our immigration authorities are still the same paan-strewn offices rather than developed on the concept of Homeland Security. Though Afghans are not much problem, we cannot have too many foreigners in our country. They are welcome to study here, but they should return and serve their country and bring it out of the medieval era that Taliban reduced it to. That's true patriotism.

no need of saying that because they are in thousands in Itangar which is small town compare to our neighbour assam's city( where they occupaid almost anything) and GoI protecting us ( no outsider allow to buy land our sattle in our state)

And the 30 million illegal Bangladeshis. Not to mention a smatter of other unwanted people who are not welcome. Legal living is fine as it gives a Red Line where to stop; but illegal immigration has to be put down harshly.

why don't you come here and count( if you can count). After all they were your citizen before entering India( they enter before Dec 16 1971 so they came india before bangladesh created as east pakistani. Yaa many came after that too and still coming too) and take back with you in pakistan. After seeing your sympathy towards bangladesh in PDF, I hope that you will treat them well( not like before 1971) and this will show your change of attitude towards bangladeshi( former east pakistani)
