As far as I know feminist want equal right for men and women. That has achieved partially in western world only.

About objectifying women, I am really not with feminists on this. Men are objectified too.

I dont think it misses the point - it addresses it by saying that the feminists are not advocating moral policing - eg. what Maya Khan did on her show.

It's asking that society should stop objectifying women: is a woman's role only to dress up?

Does a woman who doesn't dress up or look pretty, does she truly fail to be feminine?

I think a large part of it is also how we define femininity (and not feminism)

mam/sir i think the problem is women have taught from thousands of years that beauty is their power and home is their work field alone

also they see how beautiful women use their beauty (not all women) to win favors

i think it will take lot time for women to realize that beauty is one part of their personality and not all

but what equally needs to be changed is dozens of expectations of society from women while society many times deny that women too have right to make progress

As a comedian once noted, people always say that women are obsessed with their bodies, and men are obsessed with sex. However, if you go to any newsstand, most of the men's magazines' cover will be about muscles and appearance, while women's magazines' cover will be about sex.

Anyways, back to topic, feminism has failed to win wider support with women because it fundamentally ignores nature. While it's easy to blame men, the fact is that most women dress up, wear jewelry, sculpt their bodies, and do all those things, not to please men, but to impress other women. It's a competition, not necessarily about attracting men, but simply a competition with an arbitrary score card. If it isn't thinness or jewelry, it will be something else. Even getting a man, or the man, is not an end in itself, but merely another notch on the scorecard, like jewelry or an expensive car.
