Really?
It's not just Indian Muslims (IM) in India.
The IM diaspora in North America
was once a "link" between the Hindu diaspora and Pakistanis.
It was usual for IM professionals to socially interact with both their Pakistani and Hindu friends and host both of them together at their homes.
The polarization amongst the diaspora is complete. IMs are focusing on the mosques as a social and community link interacting with
Pakistanis and also Bangladeshis.
The polarization is complete.
Pre Internet days publication such as
India Abroad were read by Indian Muslims. They would also tune into shortwave radio to listen to broadcasts from All India Radio.
Indian Muslims if located within easy driving distance of their consulates would attend their national holidays such as Republic day etc.
Now the cultural transformation is almost complete. With the internet and smart TVs the IM diaspora watch Pakistani soaps, TRT Ertughrul, and digital channels such as Mubashir Luqman. Even the dress habits of the female members of the IM diaspora have changed. They wear modest loose western dresses often with a hijab but the saree has been thrown into the dustbin forever and so is the traditional Indian hairstyle of a middle parting. Earlier it was difficult to tell a Hindu and IM diaspora female apart in traditional dress. Only the
bindi was missing .
The cultural divide has grown so strong that IMs often defiantly identify themselves as Pakistanis during the rare occasions a Hindu ex-pat tries to make conversation with them in a neutral place such as a domestic airport transit lounge.
All this is of course due to the fact that the overseas Hindu Indian expat community has turned almost completely fascist in their outlook towards their compatriots.
The HSS Hindu Suraksha Sangh, the direct offshoot of the RSS is a well established community organization in North America as is the OFBJP ( Overseas Friends of the BJP). There is a weak Indian Muslim association of sorts mainly supported by Muslims from Hyderabad, who are often described as a distinct nationality by themselves as they once had in 1948 a UN seat of sorts like the PLO.
Regardless the polarization is complete!
The next question is will there be communal riots in North America and UK between Hindus and Muslim expat communities.
The answer is " possibly ".
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the UK police has already war gamed this scenario.
In the USA this scenario is impossible because the communities are too widely dispersed to be in contact and result in a clash.
