Modi’s wife wants to know her rights

"Prohibition of Child Marriage Act states that a girl in India can't marry before the age of18, and a boy before21."

Modi was forcibly married to that women when he was just 13 years old !!! not 18 at it is mischievously mentioned by vested interests.

It is ABSURD that people are holding him accountable for the sins of his parents and society. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Modi NEVER acknowledged that marriage and when he expressed his desire to take sanyas his family brought her over from her house so that Modi can change his mind and become a householder. Modi however told her that she is FREE of this marriage since he did not recognize this forcible child marriage and asked her to get educated and build her own destiny. He then fought with his family and left home for good. He's never gone back to his family since then.

For YEARS Modi did not acknowledge his marriage and left the column for marriage as blank. Its only recently when a bill was passed in parliament that made it compulsory for Parliamentarians to explicitly mention their wife and their asset, Modi mentioned he was married in order to prevent any legal controversies that could disqualify him from being an PM or MP.

There is NO COURT in the world that can declare him Married. Especially since the marriage was not consummated. Even in India that marriage as no legal sanctity.

He mentions her as "wife" in the form but has left her whereabouts as "unknown".

Under The Child Marriage Restraint Act in 1929, this marriage is illegal. Hence it can only be annulled.

Divorce is possible ONLY for legal marriages. This marriage is ILLEGAL.

This is uncalled for. This woman who has lived with so much dignity and self respect and in the true spirit of marriage should not be subjected to such talks. She is representative of all that is good in our society.

Right then this protocol doesn't make any sense if she is not his wife by law and don't know why he mentioned him married in first place. This marriage must be valid or at least have some complicated law requirement otherwise I don't see any point in mentioning himself married and creating this all trouble.

1. If you are suggesting marriage cannot be consummated if the bride is thirteen, you are wrong.

Because elections are NOT fought on the law. They are fought in peoples mind and there, perception is more real than truth.
