It is possible the assamese Muslims will join in too, and goodness knows, maybe the Muslim bengalis (both "legal" Bengali "immigrants" and "illegal" Bengali "immigrants") might also, as both groups have reasons to be aggrieved by the CAB. In fact, who on fkn earth actually benefits from CAB apart from conceivably Bengali hindus? And when they arrive, assamese Hindus will kill them, so even they don't really benefit do they?

This kind of crap is exactly what India needs when its economy is growing at a glorious 4.5%. Amateurs.

India was a geographic concept until the British colonized it. The independence did not address the issue of unity among various ethnic groups. When the economy grew at 8%, those issues were swept under the rug. Now it is growing at 4.5% (for a per capita GDP of less than 2k and giant, jobless youth population), the ethnic issues explode. Of course, no words can be said of how dumb it is to pass the citizenship bill at this particularly difficult moment, whatever the rationale.

An Indian friend explained CAB to me. All non-Muslim refugees from states neighboring India may apply for refugee status and eventually citizenship should they enter India. I asked her why not Muslims? She responded that Muslims, even those currently being persecuted in Pakistan and Bangladesh such as Shia and Ahmdiyas, were at the forefront of the two nation claim. They got their Pakistan which then included Bangladesh. If they are being persecuted in a land or nation which they so desperately fought for, how can that be India's problem? The other minorities however such as Hindus, Sikhs, Christians etc were apparently victims of partition and ought to be given a chance if they get persecuted in Muslim majority states.

Really don't know how far the above is factual
