Ghaziabad is in a bad situation because people from Delhi are en masse travelling to Ghaziabad. One of my mom's friend had to go to Ghaziabad after they couldn't find any beds in Delhi even then they had to wait. It's an overwhelming situation nobody can be better prepared for it.

The two people interviewed in the vid were surely locals to Ghaziabad. They knew how many government and private hospitals are in that town and the younger man spoke about a military area nearby which could have been used as cremation ground but wasn't.

Stop with the crematorium fetish these days, not only it's shameless to film crematoriums, but also creating unnecessary panic among the public

So we should hide the critical situation India is in ? Wasn't it shameless for BJP to continue its election rallies and allow religious gatherings smack in the fury of COVID ?

What are the Arnabs, Rubikas and GD Bakshis saying now ?

India's situation is now international news. Barkha Dutt who is also a Washington Post correspondent spoke to some American news channel on this issue.

Sure they were, at the end of the day it's the citizens of Ghaziabad who may find it difficult if they become universal acceptor.

We can find the critical situation by finding the number of deaths a day that's being published not by shooting photos or videos of dead bodies being cremated. It's pathetic.
Why blame BJP alone? All political parties have conducted their rallies and almost all religious congregations were held without any restrictions.

I don't care Barkha is WaPo correspondent or tooth fairy, she's irrelevant in this situation, and her credibility is with some American news channels given nobody in here takes her much seriously following the Niira Radia tapes.

You are talking about Delhi mainly because it is ruled by a non-BJP party. What about BJP-ruled states ? I will mention two BJP-ruled states which are also facing difficulties - Gujarat and UP ?

1. Just today on NDTV India there was a report from Surat, Gujarat about a Hindu crematorium complex where the chimney of one of the crematoriums had collapsed because of being overheated because of continuous operation as there is a continuous line of the dead waiting to be cremated.

2. BJP's poster boy CM, Yogi Adityanath's Uttar Pradesh state is not fairing any better. As example, Ghaziabad which is near to Delhi but is part of UP state is in bad situation. Watch this recent report by Barkha Dutt from Ghaziabad.

I'm talking about Delhi because it is the worst hit among all and my post has nothing to do with politics. Being a Southie, I don't give a damn about northern state politics and always hope BJP or even Congress for that matter doesn't rule the South. I always felt southern states faired better with local parties at helm.

Secondly, I'm not sure if you've ever come across any of my previous posts where I don't fail to bash UP given how they lack civic sense, communal based politics irrespective of religion, crime, primarily responsible for 90% of the rape incidents that come outta India and not to mention how they breed like insects. Those UP'ites are the ones who flock to Delhi for work who're primarily responsible to make covid situation in Delhi even worse. Bashing UP doesn't take which party is at power since the state as a whole is eff'ed up and is living off other states tax returns. No wonder the Southern state CMs propose budget allocation and tax returns to a state should be based on the income a particular state generates and not based on population

Situation in India is not good. There is no room for war between India and Pakistan now. It's better to negotiate Kashmir and move on. Yes i still consider India as enemy but I have seen images of Indian covid situation today and I am very depressed. Lots of Indians know me because of my presence on Indian forums. I just want to apologize for everything. Nothing is above humanity! I think we should help India. I know India doesn't need our help but those images are heartbreaking. I hope government of Pakistan will send relief fund to India. Send wheat or rice etc. We don't make incredible medicines. Anyway help them.

Many celebrities in India urging people to isolate but people are crazy just like us. They are huge population. We are also corrupt so expect this virus to grow further in Pakistan.

There are accusations that the central government is hiding the number of deaths. The photos and vids provide for proof of the dire situation.

My point was I never saw you talking about suicides before. You were not moved even by me pointing at the 300,000+ suicides by Indian farmers between 1995 and 2015.

But how would you want this reversal of migration to happen ?

Interestingly, it's not the white collar jobs where most of these hindi belt folks work at. The IT, finance or any other white collar sector still primarily has Southies. It's the labor sector like construction workers or other manual menial jobs where these UP'ites, Biharis and Bengalis creeped into. They work for a third of the hourly wage of what their Southie counterparts do which is making construction companies opt for them.

Southies are increasingly becoming educated and going for higher paid jobs. For instance, every family in Kerala pretty much has someone working in the Middle East, most Tamilians have family connections in SE Asia making them easier to secure employment in there, while AP/Telangana/K'taka have folks in the US/EU. No wonder they were able to convince foreign IT firms to set shop in the South

Also, the population forecast for the whole of India except for the hindi belt is falling since we've traditionally stuck to the 2 child policy. Given these circumstances, reverse migration is a bleak possibility. I have friends from UP/Bihar who lived most of their lives in the South, gone back for a couple of years...returned and said they'd never wanna go back despite most of their extended family still back in UP. It's exactly as portrayed in netflix shows like Jamtara, Mirzapur etc
