Hmm sorry for that. If I find the same video at other video channels, I will share it...

Army calls for Sniper Rifle Trials again this year. Trials expected by the end of the year for both Light and Heavy Sniper Rifle Systems.

But didn't this MKEK BORA had one the competition held last year or so. I do remember you said this one had won. We are having many types of sniper rifles in the light and heavy role, but still we are calling for trials and tenders ?? Or another money making exercise ??

I have NEVER said anywhere that MKEK BORA won the Sniper Rifle Competition! Read my posts in this thread and you will know that I am the one who pointed out that MKEK BORA claim of 'winning the tender' is wrong and that they only participated in the previous trials in 2011-12 held at Tillah ranges and the whole test and trials exercise held previously was deemed inconclusive leading perhaps to re-trials in 2013-14. And here we are. To set the record straight again we only have the following Sniper Rifles in service with Pakistan Army units:

LIGHT SNIPER RIFLE: Styer SSG 7.62 purchased in 1996 and in use with regular Infantry Units

HEAVY SNIPER RIFLE: Rangemaster 50 cal purchased in 2009 and in use with regular Infantry units.

SSG: Accuracy International AW7.62, Barrett 50 Cal, Draganov

The Infantry units are now not satisfied with the Styer and the RPA rifles as they have under performed in the hot zones in Waziristan etc. They want longer ranges with match grade ammunition to improve one-shot, one-kill ability. Hence the quest continues and the Army calls for trials again.

. .
it won contendership in the tender....

doesnt mean it won the tender itself

standby further.

What is meant by 'it won a contendership'? The title of this misleading thread suggests otherwise!

Last trials held were deemed inconclusive and new trials are now being held again!

Army did not get to the stage of the actual tender at anytime!! Only comparative trials were held.

What does that mean ?

Did none of them meet the set parameters & so weren't considered ?

It was found out that the parameters weren't a good judge of the weapons & were thus revised ?

Or Did all of them meet most of the parameters & so it was difficult to decide which one to choose from ?
