Yup many of you were saying same before operation black thunderstorm in Swat valley in 2009, Swat valley was way more difficult terrain than you can imagine to deal with, but TTP cowards were killed like wild boars in there caves...If you are observing some delay, that's not because of the lack of any capability. There are some political reasons behind such reluctance for military strike, shown by the civilian government. In a third world country like us, once the army enters into any specific area for any military operation, the civilian government just do not have enough resources to maintain the status quo after the military is retrieved. Take Swat valley for example...military had to establish army garrison inside Swat valley to stop those militants coming back again. But in the end if these cowards want to mess with the bull, no doubt they will get the horns.....!!!

My point is that S.W is not Afghan Taliban's turf but NW is. Here lies the difference. Can PA take on Haqqani network.Even NATO failed in dealing with them.

Isn't North Waziristan the base of the Afghan Taliban, Haqqani network and a few other terrorist groups apart from the TTP? what happens if the strategic assets get hit in the cross fire?

Army will not pull out of SWA, says government leader

Pakistan Army will not be withdrawn from South Waziristan Agency (SWA) or any part of the tribal belt as demanded by the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a top government leader has said.

“Such withdrawal will amount to surrender of a territory to the Taliban and abdicating the authority of the state to a group, which can not be allowed. It is a non-serious demand by the TTP,” he told The News on condition of anonymity.

“The Army will be deployed wherever it will be required and necessary,” he said.

Trust me when I say it that withdrawal from Tribal areas is the ONLY real demand , rest is just eye wash , they talk about shariah just to get legitimacy among the sheep that they butcher without remorse , ye hi sach hay

Just like in the Hindu narrative Bharat mata is holy , in tribal narrative Waziristan is holy, it's quite simple really

The next real demand is that they be given money kuon kay paisa tu lagay "gi" and third and final real demand is that they be allowed to hold a knife to our throats so that their extortionist way of existence can continue .... Very soon Inshallah all of Pakistan will realise this and see how napak their azaim are

We will target those who are targeting the Pakistani state , as an Indian you are free to draw your own conclusions

I think you are way off the topic...!

How is that so ?? Or did you never differentiate between Good and Bad Taliban ??If you ever did so then you must be the one of few rare sane Pakistani.

NATO is a foreign occupant force, they can never fight like the hometown men at the first place. Secondly, there was a huge involvement of Afghan Talibans in Swat valley....brother you can never imagine the amount of an arms cache which was recovered by the army buried along with the Swat river, including the weapons snatched from the NATO or US forces....! If our military can wipe them out over there, no doubt they shall repeat the same in NW in case of any military strike...

How about using strategic assets against TTP? By extension TTP should not have been in NW in first place, eh?

If that was the case and it was really so simple then don't you think today need of operation in NW wouldn't have arisen.

Exactly my point NW wouldn't have been in mess if PA had readymade assets in there. Anyway, I doubt you grabbed what I implied there.

But you didn't do this when NATO asked you to do so, what now ?? Your government has failed miserably in foreseeing the future consequences .Now Taliban can melt back to Afghanistan as NATO no longer is interested . Let's see how it turns out but I strongly feel that PA won't launch any major operation.

That option ceases to exist - especially when the state has legitimized the TTP and it's call for Shaiah and caliphate rule in Pakistan (the groups may have different Amirs - but the desire remains the same) which most likely all these groups want in the end. I dont see why they would take up arms against the TTP in such a winning scenario.

No your strategic asset transformed into your tormentor. It's just case of love relationship gone sour. I shouldn't remind you of what Codeleza Rice once said.

NW waziristan is neither turf of haqqani network nor TTP, it is controlled by hafiz gul bahadur who has support of utmanzai wazir tribe.
Haqqani group is guest, powerful and respected one, utmanzai wazir is providing them sanctuary since 80s with consent of pakistani military establishment. Fate of haqqani network in NW is tied with hafiz gul bahadur.

:lol: Who informed you that NATO was interested in the first place. When there was an operation going on in South Waziristan, NATO forces simply abandoned their check posts from the Afghanistan side, allowing some wanted militants to escape inside Afghan territory. Pakistan army was constantly complaining about such hopeless tactics of NATO forces but of no use. Secondly, terrorists are using weapons snatched from the NATO forces already, so thanks for your shown concern, by one way or another we are going to wipe them out....Absolutely no doubt about that.
