Migration to 5G will be challenging for India: Experts

4G itself is not really high speed. What Telecom companies should be doing is to penetrate 4G coverage to the maximum creating more data users and with consistent high speed (minimum 25mbps up and download speeds). This is not happening. Yes, JIO 4G LTE is good. 40mbps download and 8mbp upload speed as maximum IF you are lucky to be in the coverage area with Band 40. If you're device sticks to Band 3 or Band 5, the speed is restricted to 3-8mbps!. Also, JIO coverage is pretty bad especially the interiors.

Do we really need 5G speed for mobile phones? A consistent and reliable 4G network is good enough.
do we really need 4g in first place??? 3g works fine
we have to keep on upgrading in this fast changing world, even at a cost

No body is asking for 5g now, and wont in coming 5-6 years at least.
India is happy with 4g, jio and wave created by jio.
do you know jio is 5g ready?
how will you feel if jio launches new LYF( or whatever) 5g mobile with free internet for 1 year. i want to see the faces of airtel, vodafone, etc.. lol

I dont know why but with every new G, the speed of previous G reduces. I used to open pages like charm earlier in 2G when 3G was just introduced. Now same pages take more time to open

Bad news for India Inc (Telecom sector)

More than 10 local banks have red-flagged their loans given to the mobile operator which has suffered a loss of Rs 966 cr in the January-March quarter.
Is rcom even around ? Which states ?

Migration to 5G will be challenging for all the countries of the world though india and other underdeveloped and developing countries with large populations may offer some extra resistence because for the 5G to become viable peohawill need to buy new and expensive devices and companies will need to invest in altogether new infrastructure.
True, the initial resistance will come from the industry not because they cannot make a 5G network but because the investment they have made to set up a Pan India 4G network, that investment has to be recovered. And that is what most of the telecom companies have to say as they have invested billions settings up the infra.

That is what jio aims to do, the investment it has made till now is aimed at setting up a 5G infra.

I doubt it's actually so ...it probably is an illusory feeling. I remember those days with the 256 Kbps connection and I was so thrilled ...but now I'm not satisfied even with a 40 mbps connection ...I suppose wants increase with the increase in speed

First lets penetrate 3G. In villages people are still using 2G connections. Then lets make 4G an basic norm making sure it reaches a lot of people. I know by the time the world will jump to 6 or 7G. I dont care. Even if its slow, I want it to be steady, accessible by all.

Actually Jio 4G is available at the remotest village of India. Though service quality have to improve significantly. All credit to Jio. Internet is no longer a poor man's dream.

So people have devices in Rural areas who can use 4G? People in Rural areas wont easily change their networks. They still use BSNL (& Aircel in TN). And I was not getting even proper 3G on my Vodafone and Airtel networks.

So let's be patient. Even 3G has not penetrated enough. We can jump directly to 6 or 7G in few years. We should make on 4G accessible to all first.

Wow this guy REALLY scours the internet for every single bit of 'news' of even the tiniest microscopic development that could somehow be interpolated and extrapolated as a 'bad news' for India on an obscure internet forum. I'm impressed lol. I must say what a true asset to PDF. He's a forum unto himself.

Blocked.
