She was responding to a Maulana who was insulting her religion and her beliefs. She just quoted basic Islamic facts known to even a child. Life of Prophet is sunnat to all practicing momins why did you guys took the specfics of that sunnat as insult. Tell me which one of the statements she made was offending?

when one does not have knowledge about Islam about Prophet Muhammad SAW and did not research about what he or she is quoting from Quran and was that it was said in what perspective and for what purpose. you cannot simply quote a statement/Ayah from Quran and assume anything from it. those are Allah's words and there is wisdom in every single letter that makes a word and every single word that make a Ayat and a Surah.

i can quote many such verses from Quran which tells us about the "maqam" of Prophet Muhammad SAW but that is not required here.

Thing is that you have to have some criteria when you talk about religion, what is your base and your beleif in comparation with what you are trying to critique, so in that case Hindus are really in hendicaped position and i do not mean it as insult and when they try to engage in religious disucssions their only "weapon" is to highlight some "controversal facts" in order to try avoid embaressment of facts from their own religion.
So, insult is that she said not as fact in some academic or in some panelistic form, as you said yourself she said it as provocation in some sort of response which is not her place to do so.
