Back then it was just unbelievable and unimaginable for a Navy to sail its Combined Fleet to strike a massive naval base. Japanese Office of Naval Intelligence knew that the Central Pacific was patrolled by American planes and destroyer squadrons on a regular basis. So striking Pearl Harbor on a horizontal path was out of the picture. Yamamoto was impeccable; he decided to direct the Combined Fleet (Nihon Kaigun) up the Northern Pacific onto rough waters where he knew American naval forces were not active. Once in the Northern Pacific, the Combined Fleet then steamrolled diagonally to the US Pacific Fleet's Home Base in Pearl Harbor.

Pearl harbour was one helluva ....


Kamakaze pilots deserve a lot of respect (the had some balls)... They kinda remind me of our troops in 65 who laid infront of indian tanks with mines..

Actually it was much further back. The Mexicans attacked the U.S. in the Battle of Columbus.

Not the only attack on U.S soil, we not only attacked, but also invaded, conquered and ruled the U.S(and canada) for a longgggg time under our empire.
