Islamabad is too small

Adelaide has a population of 1.20 million and Perth population was 1.60 million according to last census and the increase must be negligible as of now...

Islamabad population is now 2.00 million and increasing. According to the recent initial census reports, not finalized the adjoining city Rawalpindi had a population of 5 million plus. With Bahria Town Rawalpindi bustling at it seams...now a very decent and well planned town just at the periphery of Rawalpindi.

Islamabad has BRTS, good public transport...

Gardens and open wooded areas...in fact the city looks to be in the Garden, instead of a Garden in a city.

Good quality roads in Islamabad...

Islamabad has cycling tracks and walking tracks

Cycling tracks doubles as jogging tracks in Islamabad...

Many Hiking trails and tracks along Margalla mountains...

Clean fragrant air...with flowers all around. As it is said of Islamabad, you don't need to go to a garden to see flower, it's all around, on the sides of the roads everywhere.

Sports and recreational facilities...

NUST Isb, good quality universities...

Intl' Islamic university.

COMSATS Isb.

Sports stadias and grounds, water bodies...

Shopping Malls, Clubs and Golf grounds, hotels and burstling lifestyle...got everything. The best part is it is peaceful, clean and green, good air, water quality...

Bahria Town, Rawalpindi...a separate town about 25 kms away from Islamabad, good, planned residential and commercial areas with different phases, has took the brunt of housing pressure from Islamabad and it is much less expensive than Islamabad as well.

Yes true, but that stability factor, and law and order problem is now a thing of the past, now much safe and stable...that shouldn't factors in here in the survey which is shown...will take some time to realize it and put into perspective.

Karachi homicidal rate is now not even 1 daily, the Chicago USA rate is 8 murders daily and on weekends the daily murders can hit 12-14, gang wars and drug related mostly.

I found this survey quite biased, Like no updated data for Karachi. no inclusion of Lahore which is among 30 most populated cities and also they didn't include Islamabad.

Apart from the pace of life, I can't say that I find anything else the two cities have in common. Colombo>Kathmandu any day for me, though.

As for my own city, I hope to see it score better after major metro railway and road infrastructure projects are completed in the next 5-7 years.

Yep i thought given the higher living standard in Colombo something doesn't add up, But i'm unaware of the parameters the economist used to gauge the ratings.. So cant really judge
