Meet the Texas Speech Pathologist Who Lost School Job for Refusing to Sign Pro-Israel, Anti-BDS Oath

Like doubting the existence of God but get penalized for even questioning the extent and scale of holocaust ? BTW she's a Semite and looks too.

The basic question here still remains one of education policy, not anything else, as I have described above. Semitism or anti-Semitism has nothing to do with it, except that the case that has started the legal process relates to boycotting one particular country, that is all.

Does a teacher have the right to influence the education of the students in keeping with personal views, and if so, to what extent?

What rights do the students have to an education free from any bias?

How does an Education Board ensure that the balance delivers the best possible education to its students?

. .
And the same country lectures us?Pathetic

They lecture you because you guys consider them as your mentors. The day all levels of Pakistani society (elite, middle class & poor) grow a spine and start looking back into their own culture & religion for inspiration is the day all things will be set.

Until then, it's just mentorship. From the US or from China. ;)

Quite a lot of questions you got there buddy. I suppose you're from the pro-Israeli lobby?

Um no one other than the anti state elements consider them our mentor? They just like using their economic power to pressurize other countries I mean their secretary of state literally said it that they will use human right cases to pressurize foreign governments they don't like and give pass to those who like them
I mean Khan government has decided to give them the middle finger be it on media or minorities

.
The oath is not something that relates to her job function. What is the big deal in signing the oath ? All it says is that she cannot boycott Israel. It is not like Israel is asking for her services

You suppose wrong. All I am doing is thinking rationally, a resource in short supply in this thread, for obvious reasons.

What I see is that you're overthinking a very simple matter. You either bow down to Israel or lose your job.

How is that hard to comprehend?

The oath is not something that relates to her job function. What is the big deal in signing the oath ? All it says is that she cannot boycott Israel. It is not like Israel is asking for her services

That oath directly rescinds her first amendment rights. Would you like me or any other government org. to take away your first amendment right so that you can work as a school teacher?

Also, please read the whole matter. You seem like you don't know what's at stake here.

Check this out @VCheng & @nahtanbob

She has a slim case.

Texas State Law barring anyone to do business with Texas Government, who are supporting to boycott Israel and require to sign into a contract before that companies or parties would not be boycotting Israel as per Government of Texas Code 2270 :

CHAPTER 2270. PROHIBITION ON CONTRACTS WITH COMPANIES BOYCOTTING ISRAEL

https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/GV/htm/GV.2270.v2.htm

Unless this law is repealed on Federal Level, she don't have a case.

It tells she cannot discriminate against the state of Israel
she can still advocate her own views on Israel

anyway it is upto the courts

I understand the law and its implications as well as its enforceability. Having said that, she does have the right to test its validity in the courts, and I would defer to due process here. The outcome is quite predictable in the light of the questions I have posed above.

Please see the above post by @jhungary and my reply, if you would care to understand the issue without prejudice.

Yeah, but she filed her complaint on the wrong court. She is challenging the Texas Government decision, not the Law Process, she need to file a complaint on theSupreme Court. She filed the issue on Federal Court, which mean she think the Texas Government is wrong to fire her (ie a wrongful dismissal lawsuit) But under Texas Law, they can dismiss people if they do not sign the partition that they are not going to boycott Israel.

What she should do is to Challenge the Texas State law, which leads to her dismissal. For which you have to do it with US Supreme Court. To see if this Texas Law violate the first amendment right.

I an perfectly happy to let this case wind through the court system as her lawyers determine. :D
