and he remains only the second south asian in space ( after rakesh sharma ).

and what of the muslim cosmonauts from ussr??
This article isn't about this, so yeah.

So, not a woman, just a human! :enjoy:

So, first woman to pay to go to space! There is nothing money can't buy these days.

wtf , what does this have to do with religion? this has nothing to do with Islam, she got to that positions because of her hard work and dedication, not because she was Muslim.

talk about starting BS propaganda, when Kalpana Chawla went to space , no one in India said "first Hindu girl to go to space", do you know how much of a cringe it sounds like...
Agreed, I dont know why ppl see religion in every thing.
IRanian ...
Stop claiming credit for Iran. What has Iran done for this lady? Iran or any other country should be ashamed that they could not provide space or help for ppl to succeed in their own country. Just like indians its a introspection time for iran on why iranians succeed outside Iran but not within their own country.

"Going to space was Anousheh’s life-long dream, along with becoming an astrophysicist. Growing up in her homeland, Iran, she would lie in her balcony and get lost in the night skies, dreaming she would one day be among the stars. “I was fascinated by the sheer mystery of space, what’s out there, what’s it like, and how I could get there,” she says.

The stars looked pretty far away in 1984, five years after the Iranian revolution, when she and her family left the country for a better life in the United States."

well, i made those points because of the op's anti-progress posts in other threads... i am currently in sufi mode so i was trying to troll him. :D

What is the status on Iranian manned mission. I heard the monkey missions were a success, though that was a bit back, I think.
Iran is planning to send a human to space in this year.

Too Ambitious to be True? Iran Plans to Send Humans to Space by 2016
yes,i know, since they want to make it a muslim thing ,i want to know where were these muslims when Iran was sanctioned.

As they say success has many fathers and failure has none.

The title is wrong. She is Iranian American which made her dream possible. There is no religion in this.
She is an Iranian and a Muslim. end of story
Stop claiming credit for Iran.
It is better to Shutup

No. An Indian is not necessarily a Hindu and a Hindu is not necessarily an Indian. Religion is a theological approach, while nationality is a political approach.

A Hindu could be Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, American, Australian, British or whatever. An Indian is a person who owes his or her 100% allegiance to India and holds an Indian passport.

Hm....then why is the Middle East in such a mess? Going by your logic the concept of the Ummah should have been successful. Hell, Bangladesh should never have separated.

It is sad to see a woman who has achieved something by her own merit and then we bring religion on that matter and cast her in that reference point.

I should have completed my statement.

Pakistan is only one of two Muslim countries in the world to have built their own space program and launch their own homemade satellites. And also the first
Correct me if I am wrong, it was China who launched the satellite for Pakistan... isn't it ?
