MBDA is advancing co-development of a vertical launch (VL) MICA-based solution to India’s Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDO) to secure the Indian Navy’s (IN’S) short-range surface-to-air missile (SRSAM) requirement. VL MICA is a short-range fire-and-forget missile that can be equipped with either infrared (IR) homing seeker (VL MICA IR) or with an active radar (VL MICA RF). The navy’s SRSAM requirement is a vertically launched system with 360° coverage to engage hostile targets at a range of up to 15 km. SRSAM will technically replace the Israel Aerospace Industries/ Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Barak 1 point defence missile in IN service But Senior MBDA officials who spoke to idrw.org at recently concluded DefExpo 2016 at Goa SRSAM is very much a priority project and we are still offering all the performance and transfer of technology advantage associated with the project in the shape of a short range naval air defence missile. MBDA official also confirmed that Brimstone which is an air-launched ground attack missile developed by MBDA for Britain’s Royal Air Force has been offered to India Air Force and force has been made aware of Brimstone’s advantage and is very much interested in adding capability that the weapon would provide air combat capability both in open and cluttered urban terrain . Brimstone has been receiving glowing reports from all quarters both within the user community and political world following its unmatched success under operational conditions in Iraq,Libya,Afghanistan and Syria .

I mean if India plans to put SRSAM from MBDA.

Real question is, why MBDA is not offering Aster 30 or Aster 15 based system?

There have been tries from our side for Iron Dome and Arrow 2 both , but US.....
This puts this also in risk of we try for it.
I don't see any problem for purchasing Iron Dome, since it's Israeli technology.
Arrow and David Sling on the other hand are cooperation between Israeli and American military industries

On 23 November 2012, The Economic Times reported that Indian Defense planners were considering the possibility of India acquiring an indigenous version of Iron Dome, keeping a close watch on the performance of Iron Dome during the 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense. Several months earlier, the military scientists in the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) had suggested that India look at a joint development program with Israeli firms to develop an Indian version of Iron Dome. They believed Israel's short range missile defense requirements have several parallels to the Indian threat from Pakistan, which includes a "battlefield range" quasi tactical ballistic nuclear weapon delivery system, called Nasr, which some Indian defense sources say the Iron Dome might be an effective deterrent against, as well as the vulnerability of its cities to attacks from militants. However they have not used any missiles against India.[107]
"The Israeli team comes and works in our laboratories. Our team goes and works in their laboratories and industries. There is a learning that is taking place which was not there when we buy things and integrate with existing products... we have started discussions about Iron Dome for co-development (in India)," Dr W. Selvamurthy, Chief Controller looking after international cooperation said.[107]
On 8 February 2013, Marshal Norman Anil Kumar Browne, commander of the Indian Air Force, told reporters that Iron Dome is not suitable for the service. The announcement came after two years of discussions.[108] In August 2013, India resumed attempting to acquire the Iron Dome system after Israel agreed to transfer system technology. Iron Dome could complement the domestic long-range Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Programme air defense system.[109]

Plans with MBDA are to produce Maitri missile which is based on MICA but with better performance, it was reported GoI will have all right of it's design except giving licence fee to MBDA for that 6 billion dollar missiles, It is most likely that Kamorta class will have this missile.
Iron Dome was funded by the U.S but the technology is pure Israeli
That's problem India want to cut imports... Neither US, nor Israel is willing to give ToT.

@PARIKRAMA how does this fit vis a vis the Maitri?
It's QRSAM Maitri, reported range is 20km to 40km.
