with regards to India, our relationship with Afghanistan was never about Afghans, but to pin down the foe next door.. we did that successfully for last 20 years.. now that there is a possible change of heads, we will try to renegotiate terms with whoever sits in Kabul crown.

Even then, being presumably outnumbered 4:1, the Talibs are probably over extended with their manpower (reports once they take a district their troops move on, and don’t leave many to secure the previous district just taken) unless they get at least 100-200,000 new members from the areas they just took. Otherwise the momentum could swing back the other way.

On topic: If ANA was that competent as some people are trying to make it, there would have been no Taliban. Close to 800 billion USD was pumped into Afghanistan along with NATO and Indian military trainers but the outcome is that Americans accepted Taliban as a party in Afghanistan. If US with all their military might could not find a solution to Taliban problem, trust me that no one in Afghanistan can do it then.
