I think that PMLN had decided at one time that going to jail shall boost their narrative of victimization and help them fill enough ballot boxes.

The case against Maryam is not corruption but collusion in hiding Nawaz's property as benamidar and perjury and forgery... The forgery bit is kept on halt until other counts are proven.

Once, she is found guilty of forgery in due course then the jail term is minimum 7 years for that offence...how trial court judge plays it might delay her jail term but not for long. But she might run off to London if they panic.
