Speaking to NDTV she said she had been getting rape threats on social media.

The 20-year-old student of LSR spoke in a quivering voice that revealed the stress she had been subjected to.

Gurmehar Kaur said after she had changed her profile photo, she was being called an anti-national.

After ABVP allegedly obstructed a seminar at Ramjas college and then attacked protesting students Tuesday, Gurmehar Kaur had triggered a viral campaign.

She had changed her profile photo showing herself holding a placard saying she was not afraid of ABVP.

She also appealed to other students to join her campaign, a call which drew a massive response from all over the country.

Speaking to NDTV, Gurmehar Kaur said a person called Rahul had left threatened her with rape.

The problem with JNU are the comrades that are now deeply rooted within JNU. For decades they were nourished by the dispensation who was sympathetic to their cause and they were their blue eyed boys. Their interests were convergent and their definition of "Idea of India" was similar.

Now suddenly they find that the current administration whose concept of "Idea of India" is quite different from them and hence the son-in law treatment that they used to get from the previous administration is missing. Its quite natural that when someone looses the luxury to which he/she was accustom to, there would be some painful transition which would bring a counter aggressive stance from the aggrieved party.

They do not have even opposition to support them because they were already decimated by current dispensation in 2014 election and hence they take the help of their comrades in media.
