I watched a lengthy movie about Sallahhudin. He was merciful to his captured enemies and won over the hearts of many Christians who lived in his captured territories. He was an intelligent and skilled general for his times
oh yeah

kingdom of heaven,,,nice movie

What makes you think I do not respect Salahuddin? No Muslim disrespects the man but I am just bringing up the historical reality that had he not liberated Jerusalem he would not be as famous and he wasn't as great as a general. Maybe a more military minded poster like @AUSTERLITZ will know what I am trying to say.

True saladin wasn't as great a military tactician really.
What he WAS good at was political acumen, leadership and practical mind.
Thus he defeated the crusaders at hattin without really fighting them.
Then took weakened jerusalem.
It was his ability to unite the disparate muslim forces and hold on to it despite the odds that makes him such a great hero to the people of the middle east.He can be said to have begun the process of beginning the end of the crusader states which were artificial entities curved out by conquest and created resentment.
He lost at arsuf, but here he showed his practical side..and didn't give in to pride but used fabian tactics to force richard to negotiate, rather than give him what he wanted-a pitched battle.

If u looking for a tactician khalid and baibars are the guys.

Area ruled by great sallahhudin ayubbi

You sound so poor mamay, Uttarapatha is the Northern part of our eternal Bharat Varsha, southern part is called Dakshinapatha. (Uttara=north, Dakshina=South). ;) Land between Indus and Radcliffe line is just a breakaway region of our Bharata Varsha. :(

In reality those Arabs copied the knowledge from their so called jahil ancestors. One such example was the book named SindHind translation of the mathematics of Brahmagupta(he was from Mewar) which Arabs took from Sindh and later became the foundation of Arabian Algebra of Al Khwarizmi, the Arabian Nights are partly copied from Panchatantra, Vikram-Betal and Jatak tales. The famous physician Ibn Sina learned the earlier medicine of Charaka and Sushruta. ;) I can see how Jahils people were before the arrival Muhammad Bin Qasim. :coffee:

Of course, we think their jahiliya lies on the other side of the conversion event!

That is the basic difference between us and it is unbridgeable.

Does the quran also not promise 'the land of israel' to the jews?

No the Quran differentiates between Israelite and Jews of today. Go to a Islamic forum to learn more. :D

Israel as per according to the Bible:

Then Jesus will descend and scold the Jews for killing him originally and they will be like my bad and declare him King. Then he will establish Kingdom of Heaven on earth. :smokin:

Does the quran also not promise 'the land of israel' to the jews?

Not quite. It's not that the Quran 'promises' the Jews anything, it mentions that God had given them land when they had none; among thousands of other favors from God, placing them above the rest of mankind. But they kept on defying Him despite all that, killing prophets, rewriting their scriptures and whatnot.

And combine to Both make Salauddin. Check his invasion of Karak and even enemies of his time respect him. You accept it or not but history treat him one of the greatest general of all time and even today's world all general don't go for hand to hand combat and they always lead the army and used WAR TACTICS to win the battle.

And about your comment can you please name few Generals who is not a Tactician?
