Maoist Rebels Kill 11 In Attacks In Eastern India

PATNA, India (AP) — Police say Maoist rebels have killed 11 people in attacks across an eastern Indian state after their leader died in a gunbattle with security forces.

Police Superintendent D.V. Sharma says the rebels blew up railway tracks at two points in Jharkhand early Sunday to protest the Nov. 24 killing of Koteshwar Rao, alias Kishanji.

He says they also attacked a police convoy traveling with a state lawmaker in western Jharkhand late Saturday, detonating explosives that killed nine officers and spraying gunfire that left two civilians dead.

The guerrillas, inspired by Chinese revolutionary Mao Zedong, have been fighting for decades for land and jobs for the poor.

Fighting for jbs and land my foot! I am from eastern and specifically NE India. There are problems here BECAUSE of these SOBs. They blow up tracks which are for bringing goods and developing the place. They blow up medical and school facilities which are for education and development. And then they complain of not getting facilities.

Simply put, these guys deserve a PLA style assault by our military on them. They are the reason no one wants to invest in infrastructure in eastern India because all businesses are scared of coming. If these liabilities are eliminated, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa will also become like Gujarat in development. Local industries will invest and grow better.

One thing I like about Chinese is how they deal with the human rights terrorist supporters first and then destroy terrorism as well. We must learn this from Chinese.

And they were 0% successful in that in last 45 yrs. Their area of influence is shrinking day by day. Like other North East insurgents they will soon realize that they are trying to do mission impossible and they are not Tom Cruise and will come for peace talks like maoist did in Nepal. We Indians already have seen bullshit socialist economy that gave nothing to India.

It's clear that the Maoist groups were somehow set up by Indian government to corrupt chinese reputation.

It is because there is all round politics. Different state different politics. If there is heat in one state they hide in another.
The centre cannot dictate state govt.

We only see Chinese tank tried to avoid a single person standing in the way of a column of tanks in China,and they rebels do have tanks and even airplane,dont they?do you mean your troops are too mercy to them and refuse to shoot at them and use tanks against them?

Because some people still fantasizes that Communism is answer to all of their miseries because many people in India don't know about Ukrainian genocide, Great leap forward or cultural revolution and Khmer Rouge.

They are not reached a position being too strong that why they are same even in 45 years and Indian government knows that and they are not going for severe military crackdown. Nepalese Maoist were able to incite civil war in just 10 years but they failed to do so in India.
