What's new

Mao Zedong's 120th birthday anniversary

Not a single person claim the ROC killed 200 million. There are malnutrition and sanitation issue in ROC, that cause lower life expectancy and that is because the government is too weak and under existential threat from Japan, which make her not able to modernize.

The population of China did keep increasing in ROC.

Also ROC took over from Qing dynasty the illiteracy rate then was probably close to 99%.

The number doesn't lie!!!

Look at the population growth during the ROC period, it had no one-child policy, yet the population growth kept getting stagnated.

And stop keep demonizing Mao and he didn't kill 30 million, this is completely bullsh1t.

ROC/KMT is the real abomination, the Chinese people already gave them a chance to prove themselves, yet they screwed everything, they have no one to blame, but themselves.

If they were so good, then Mao wouldn't have any chance to overthrow them.

You mentioned ROC kill 200 million. Which event and sources you cite? Also ROC is not entirely KMT. As late as 1927, Chiang was just a "school principal" with a small piece of land in Guangdong. You are kidding if you say KMT and Beiyang killed 200 millions.

From 1927-1937, Chiang was preparing against Japan. He hold just the South East China. He must have massacre everyone to kill 200 million if all murders are attributed to KMT. How about Beiyang? Beiyang are hesitate even to shoot at students.

Preparing war against Japan?! Since you are a Singaporean, i don't blame you for not knowing this dark period of history in China.

Chiang had no intention to fight Japan, since Japan had annexed Northeast China in 1931, he ordered his fellow KMT army not to resist.

At the beginning, Chiang didn't want to fight Japan, and this was the reason that forced him to fight Japan.

Xi'an Incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have no personal connection to CPC, but i truly believe China got a chance to rise again thanks to CPC.

My Great Grandparents were actually high-rank KMT officials, and my grandfather was raised in a wealthy KMT family. He got a chance to attain the best private elite school in Nanjing, but he fled to Chongqing with the rest of the KMT group during the WWII against Imperial Japan. After the end of the civil war, he decided of not leaving Mainland China for Taiwan.

Despite my family's KMT connection, none of my family members have been affected during the cultural revolution. But in vice versa, KMT would probably kill or torture anyone who has connection with CPC.

This is why CPC will be the ruler of China and KMT will always remain as loser.

Oh damn, what about princelings and your CCP chiefs?

Well, considering that how Indian politic families has been ruling India, I would say the so-called princelings are not a problem at all. As for US, they did elect Bush Jr. into the oval office.

I guess you get it wrong. Communist has no intention to fight Japan. You are expecting Chiang Kai Shek who was just a "school principal" in 1927, to go against a modern army in 1931.

Northern China was nominally united in 1928. Chiang has very little army other than his own cadet.

Mao shook hand with Nixon in 1972, he was probably angry at the pro-Soviet successors of Ho Chi-Minh and wanted to retaliate against them.

Mao was absolutely a trustworthy friend for the developing nations, since China was poor and angry itself, yet he kept supplying his friends from the developing nations.

The Vietcong regime after Ho Chi-Minh shouldn't be snobbish by choosing USSR over him. Your friend may be poor, but at least he is your true friend, and you shouldn't abandon him for a richer sugar daddy.

Viets tried to be neutral in spliting of Sino-USSR relation, but Mao and his followers used his position nearby Viets to get his position of master. When China robbed Islands of Viets 1974, there is showed of true face of Mao.

He was not our true friend, he is fake communist and policy smuggler.

Ho Chi-Minh's Vietcong was neutral between China and USSR, while Ho Chi-Minh himself was more pro-China.

You have to know that Ho passed away in 1969, then his successor quickly turned away from China.

Mao would probably not take the island from ROV if Ho was still alive, but the unfriendly new Vietcong regime didn't deserve any gift from Mao and CPC.

Even he has made lot of big mistake.
He was a greatest leader of china. I miss him

Greatest leader based on what?

Propaganda and media hype?

Chairman Mao did great things for China, even he did make some mistake later.

But if the history can repeat, we will choose him again to kick those invaders' ***.

What did the great things he do to China?

Explain it in more specific.

If he is not the greatest leader of China, then who is?

He made China industrialized, before his era, the stone age ROC couldn't even produce a single bullet.

Literacy rate at 1912 is 10%, at 1949 is 20.48%, at 1964 is 49.7%. This is on top of the drastic population increase from 1949 to 1964.

It is funny that you tried to rationalize the huge death rate during RoC's reign. Get this, PRC faced the very same threats. What? Did you think nuclear threat from USSR and US isn't there? The wars fought near Chinese border are any different from the war with Japan? That medicare, sanitation, infrastructure, education, food, industry and everything else just magically appear after PRC is founded? Of course not. RoC and PRC both faced these threats, only that PRC is competent enough that they persevered against the odds while RoC bumbled around for 38 years.

ROC cannot produce a bullet LOL. You show me your sources of info.

Sino-Soviet split in 1960, Great Leap Forward in 1958. Despite of surrounding hostility, you cannot compare the existential threat KMT faced. USA also face with nuclear threat of USSR and vice-versa.

There are no national wide war after Mao.

Chiang has to face the the entire Japan war machine in 1937. In 1927, he was just a "school principal" and nothing else. Border war in China is different from tens of division of Japanese army marching into China.

You lie.

china plaid his policy from 1968, reduced help to Vietnam and has his signalization to US that China will change his position in cold war to US side. 1969 China attacked on USSR.

As I said that Vietnam tried to be neutral, but Mao didn't cared about the independence of Vietnam, just used Vietnam to counter US to last Vietnamese. 1972 Mao shaked hands with Nixon in Peking, 1974 robbed Islands of Vietnam.

Without USSR Vietnam could'nt fought against US 1972 and leberated South Vietnam 1975.

Thanks for God that in the world existed the people called Russian.

Mao is biggest opportunist, reference to view point of communist.

Well, I am a bit short on time right now, so I will just cover Mao's contribution regarding to Chinese agriculture.

Food is the cornerstone of the society and in order to feed a modern nation, you need modern agriculture techniques, which mean farming machine, pesticide, chemical fertilizer, reliable irrigation. Let's first talk about farming machines: Tractors are one of the most often used machine in agriculture production. The very first Chinese tractor factory produced is found in 1958 at Jiangxi Province, Nanchang City. Pesticide and Chemical fertilizers both require petroleum to be made. Farming machines also require petroleum products to run. The very first Chinese oil field is the Daqing field which is found during the aggressive expansion of Great Leap forward. Because Daqing, China never suffered another famine. Irrigation is another foundation of modern agriculture. While Mao's China did not have the expertise to build titanic structures like the three gorge dam, they were quite capable and did build a large number of water reserve and small hydro stations. Many of them still operates until today. Did you wondered why China is producing more food than India (as well as the next two countries combined) despite having less land devoted for agriculture? These are the reasons. Without farming machines, farmer's productivity is low. Without pesticides, the crop will be ruined by pests. Without fertilizers, you would drain the land dry and without dams and reservoirs, you can't store water for dry season and prevent flood during wet season.

Mao has plenty of other contributions. Infrastructure, education, medicare, economy, technological progress, military achievements. China is powerful today because Mao and subsequent leaders each laid powerful foundations for their successors.

Oh, one of the biggest jokes is that some countries want to copy Deng's economic achievements, but unwilling to go through Mao's work first. Guess what, you can't build a skyscraper without working on the foundation first.

ROC cannot produce a bullet LOL. You show me your sources of info.

Duh, there is no national wide war after 1950 BECAUSE PRC WAS ABLE TO PREVENT THE OPPONENTS FROM ENTERING CHINESE BORDER. The Japanese "war machine" doesn't hold a candle to US military and PRC did just fine against it.

Mao did the most important thing, unified China, that is the marquee trade of any leader. The millions that died would have died, even if 神先 was real, those people would not have survived given the state of China at that time.
His only bad idea was cultural revolution, probably because he listened to his wife. In my book, he made China respectable, even if those people unfortunately perished. He did what he had to do, 千方百計.

I'm sure he's celebrating ..........................................in hell.Rot away douchebag.
If you believe in middle eastern fairytale, lol.

Logic.

Actually, chinese believe in the concept of hell too

Remember 18 層地獄?
Only if you're Buddhist, but unlike Christian hell, no one suffers eternally.
