it is not a real achivement
this is something US/USSR did more than 40 years ago

what CCP should do is to invest more on space techs and make moon landing a national priority.

an full on space race with the US can benefit everyone.

They are more interested for the Mars landing, since the 1000 tons thrust solid fuel engine is on the way. :coffee:

these are necessary steps for the next more audacious missions.

It is an achievement! Females have different biological conditions and what the US/USSR's have experienced 30/40 years ago are not sharing with us. We need to work on all these from scratch.

Also, the mission will include some lab tests, adaption of living in a vacuum for longer period of time on top of the manned rendezvous, docking and return techniques! Its a milistone for us!

There is no great leap forward when it comes to space program. You either have the foundation or you don't. Since the West has excluded China out of international cooperation, we might do everything on our own. You can't rush progress.

Also, space race with the United States is unrealistic, seeing how they are 20 years ahead of us at the minimum and more than twice our economy. Don't get cocky just because China made some progress in the past 20 years. Make no mistake that we are still playing catch-up.

really? back in the 60s, how many years US/USSR spent to do their first EVA after sending a man to the space? less than 4 years for USSR. how many years for China? almost 5 years.so 50 years on, with all tech advances, China need to spend more time to get prepared. and you don't see the reason?

the reason is simply: CCP is not that interested, funding is very limited for projects like this.

From 1950s to 1970s US/USSR space race was part of Cold War. They gave it top priority and allocated huge budget in order to win the first spot for first satellite in space, first man in space, first moon landings, first space walks etc etc.

There is no such need in current peace time for China, US, Russia and others, in future space development, economic return will play bigger role than political returns. Even academic scientific research may overide political urge.
