Manned Space launch with a woman astronaut by China this month

It's impossible to send a man to Mars. Because after just a few days in space, you will need help just to stand up.

After a few months in space you will not be able to stand up on Mars under gravity at all.

Agreed. In zero gravity condition, space travellers lose bone density as well as muscle and other biological functions related to Earths gravity. After one year in space, their bones and msucle cannot support their movement on 2 legs. Muscle maybe maintained by regular exercise onboard space ship but artificial gravity can only be created by huge space ship with constant circular moving sphere or huge circular tubes.

China plans medical research aboard its space lab module - Xinhua | English.news.cn

JIUQUAN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- China will conduct space medical experimental research on Tiangong-1 space lab module in the upcoming manned space flight, China's manned space program spokeswoman Wu Ping said Friday.

It is a key task to ensure the astronauts' physical health and high working efficiency as the orbiting flight time will continuously increase in the later space station phase, Wu said at a press conference at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

During the upcoming manned space docking mission between the Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft and the Tiangong-1, three major aspects of aerospace medical experimental research will be conducted, she said.

The first aspect is the health monitoring that mainly includes astronaut's nutrition and metabolism, moods, and biorhythm changes in orbit, she said.

The second is research on the physiological effects mechanism of weightlessness and the countermeasures, which include the impact study on the functions of astronaut's cardiovascular, vestibule and brain in the orbiting flight.

They will also study bone loss in space.

The third is research on environmental medicine and the astronaut's operational capability in space, Wu said.

By conducting these experiments, China will obtain data on the impact of weightlessness on the human body among other things, she said.

China is making its final preparations to send three astronauts, two male and one female, into space aboard Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft to fulfill the country's first manned space docking mission.

Fueling of the upgraded Long March-2F carrier rocket will start Friday afternoon. The launch platform and all control systems are ready.

Astronauts are in good and stable condition and preparing for their space journey, according to China's manned space docking program headquarters.

Another great achievement for Asian nations! Also, China has successfully tested stage separation for the CZ-5 heavy launcher this week.

CZ-5 will have the biggest payload of any rocket in the world except for USA's Delta IV Heavy.

Long March 5 Will Have World's Second Largest Carrying Capacity

CHina is emerging as a true Super Power by all means. we are waiting for the day when CHina will become capable enough to export all those high tech products for what Western nations charge very high due to their high labor cost. Its only CHina who is true representative of Asia by its achievements. also, its the time when World would think to accept Yuan as the world currency as its only China who has as much foreign reserve that they may establize world currency, the Yuan

we hope China will soon get enough success in space research field and will discover key secrets of outer space which will help us have a better and secure life in future

Interview: Chinese manned space docking "very important step": U.S. expert - Xinhua | English.news.cn
.

LAYFAYTTE, United States, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Just a few months shy of the 20th anniversary of the Chinese manned space program, China is now in the final stages of preparation for its first manned docking mission, said a U.S. expert, adding it is a "very important step" for China's space program.

William Anderson, a professor of aerospace at Purdue University who previously worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), said the Chinese manned docking will be important for the country's space goals in the future.

"It is a very important step for the Chinese space program," Anderson told Xinhua in an interview about the upcoming launch, when the manned Chinese spacecraft Shenzhou-9 is scheduled to dock with the orbiting Tiangong-1 lab module.

"From what I can see is that they are approaching things in a very incremental way, which will probably lead to this highest probability of continued success," Anderson said, adding that the complexity of space operations requires a slow progression.

China has been building up to the Shenzhou-9 manned docking mission since the country first established its manned space program - Project 921 - on Sept. 21, 1992.

Since then, China has joined the United States and Russia as the countries that have successfully sent humans into space, first accomplished in 2003 by the Shenzhou-5 astronaut Yang Liwei.

More recently, the unmanned spacecraft Shenzhou-8 tested docking technology with the Tiangong-1 lab module in November last year.

But Shenzhou-9 will be the first Chinese manned mission to dock with an orbiting craft, as well as the first one to see a Chinese woman astronaut in space.

"I think people - the fact that there are people on board - it will draw much more attention," Anderson commented on the Shenzhou-9 launch, calling the mission very symbolic.

Additional goals for the Chinese space program include landing a man on the moon and deploying a permanent space station by 2020.

Anderson said he is very positive of space exploration in general, and cited many benefits aerospace could bring to scientific development and national culture.

"When you look at countries like Germany, France, the U.S., they were hugely changed by their space programs," he told Xinhua.

"One of the big changes that came around with the Apollo space program is the perception of science, engineering, and mathematics as virtues - people aspired to send their children into (the fields)," Anderson said, adding that space is one of the main factors influencing the United States to grow into a more technocratic and innovative country.

Currently, space telescopes such as the Hubble are exploring faraway galaxies and examining the origins of the universe, while private companies have expressed their long-term intentions to mine asteroids for valuable minerals.

Other exploration goals for both the United States and China include a manned mission to Mars, in which space programs from many different countries could potentially work together in a global scientific effort.

The Shenzhou-9 launch is scheduled for later this week, and will therefore be only the first step of many for China's long-term space goals.

At Purdue University, space enthusiasts will likewise continue to work toward future advances in the field, where the university has already established itself as a national leader.

Purdue has graduated a total of 23 U.S. astronauts, including the first ever man to walk on the moon - Neil Armstrong.

BTW, did the Chinese took such high note posture before? I remeber they always remain low-key. They might have very high confidence level, I guess.

Great achievement, and we whole heartedly congratulate CHINA for avhieving this great feat. We wish her more success in her future endavours and quest for science and technology.
Sending a women of asian origin in a made in China(Asia) vechile into Space is no small leap to the Asian people.

Congrats to the CHINESE and their hard work.
