Man booked for ‘blasphemy’

Different Societies and different histories apply to Malaysia and Turkey. Just please remove Bangladesh from the list
(Search Bangladesh Blogger Killings). Removing Blasphemy laws as @T-123456 said would spark nation wide protests with over 80% of the population participating. Personally I don't see a reason to remove it I only think improvements to the law are needed. i.e The court has to follow all legal proceedings cutting no corners and if the law is used to settle a personal score then the accuser should also be Blasphemy as s/he is misusing Islam.
Can you answer me why Pakistan was doing better then my country and Malaysia combined in the 60s?
What happened to that Pakistan?

Ayoub Khan was the leader thats why, A liberal a secular leader was at the helm of leadership. So you could say that a secular and liberal leader was the reason why Pakistan was so far ahead. That's not the truth in fact Ayoub Khan is the sole reason Pakistan is in it's current state. Yes Pakistan was prospering in the 60's far ahead of many but everything Ayoub Khan did had short term benefits and crippling long term ones. To quote "An objective review of General Ayub Khan’s policies and actions suggests that his primary motive was to sustain and prolong his rule as his regime sowed the seed, and generously watered the plant, for Bangladesh's separation that came years later. The economic growth, which many cite as his singular achievement, promoted the income inequalities resulting in the rise of the 20 influential families who controlled the nation's resources and amassed ill-gotten wealth, leaving the rest poor, hungry, and resentful." The very person who was responsible for Pakistan's success in the 60's is responsible for it's downfall after.

Why not have a referendum whether Pak should Keep blasphemy Law or not?
@TheLahoriGuy

You can do so by all means. However, in a country where most of the public is not even literate, have a history of electing the corrupt, have 0 awareness of their rights as citizens and completely miss critical thinking its not wise to hand over the control of an entire state to the same people.
Enough people supporting an idea does not make it right. Just answer me one question.

Is or is this law not prone to be exploited ?

Its not prone to being abused ? So you're saying that just ONE accusation cannot have you running back and forth to courts for years ? Youre saying that the fact that just ONE baseless accusation will not automatically turn you into a social outcast ? That it hasn't resulted in mob lynchings ? That just one implication is not enough to get you killed ?

Why not booked that Pir Fazal Molvi who openly said in a public meeting that a Gadha ( Donkey ) is also Aalim ul Gaib? Isn’t a Toheen e Allah? Why won’t stupid zombies protest against mulla tolla?

People saying if Blasphemy law is abolished then people will start lynching. There are such no laws in Turkey, Malaysia, Bangladesh how many lynchings have been there so far? Since 1990, 60 odd have people have died after this law came into existence. There were no lynchings prior to this law.

Both BD and malaysia have laws against hurting religious beliefs. In BD it carries max punishment of upto 3 years as far as i know. In turkey too, recently some people have been booked for hurting religious sentiments. Anyway that's not the point and none of these countries you mentioned should be models to follow for PAK in case of blasphemy law. In muslim lands clear red lines for "freedom of expression" should be drawn for brainwashed liberal secularists and such lines require ruthless punishments and social deterrence. For exercising "freedom to mock muslims" you have France, UK, Germany etc etc.

60s was no exception for PAK, most of the post-colonial muslim world back then were ruled by secular despots like ayub khan. Ayub khan did more harm than good in the form of nipping the institutional development of a nascent nation-state while trying to disrupt the social fabric of the country with imported western ideas. He was the one who started the habit of military coups in PAK and laid the ground work for eventual civil war in 71 IMHO. Trial and error, bickering in parliament, corrupt, weak but elected civilian leadership would have a much better chance of fostering unity in a diverse federation like PAK. People deride India and Nehru for weak economy in the 60s- 90s but did India break up in 2? They took their time in building institutions and fostering unity and playing according to reasonable rule of law unlike muslim nations.

Also bro, material ecnomomic growth should never be the benchmark to measure success for muslims. Only people devoid of objective morality and higer purpose in life can argue solely on material terms like secularist liberals. Double digit growth rate in exchange for social chaos, destruction of the environment, corruption, inequality, nepotism and ultimate destruction of moral values is NOT what Allah(swt) created human beings for. There is a reason why westerners, koreans & japanese are flocking to Islam and those who are NOT are trying to find meaning in far-right nationalism or ending up doing suicide:

We muslims should not follow IMF prescribed post-WWII model of development, but should give an alternative of sustainable constructive development to the world, based on our beliefs and values of justice & fairness. Muslim by definition are meant to lead and not follow the rest of mankind.

You dont need blasphemy laws in the first place. No muslim is insane enough to abuse Prophet (PBUH). Yes they have a few years punishment , they dont put you to death in Malaysia or Turkey.

In Pakistan we have a high ratio of jaheliyat , hence they misuse it in their own way which often is killing and lynching the person

A Muslim can never abuse the prophet Muhammad (saw). Its the islamophobic secular liberals i.e social provocateurs with agenda who do. Blashphemy law is necessary to keep such agents of chaos in check. And if you do not know, let me tell you - all four sunni schools of jurisprudence considered blasphemy against Allah (swt) and His messenger a punishable crime.

Also there is considerable demands in all these countries (BD, TURKEY and malaysia) for tougher laws against blashphemy. Malaysia is already debating for increase in punishments while Turkey has its own socio-political dynamics to consider. BD is a pro-indian dictatorship which I think you do not want PAK to emulate.

Misuse of law is not an argument against the law. It idiotic to argue on such lines.

Nice little model you drew up for "Muslim" lands. In case you are aware of it there are non-muslims by the millions in "Muslim lands". If Muslim countries should start enforcing " ruthless and harsh punishments" for those who hurt their feelings then would it be fair for non Muslim countries to treat their Muslims the same way ?

Treat others like you want to be treated, if youre wishing death upon someone because they hurt your feelings then move to some failed state like somalia where everyone carries an AK and will kill each other over the pettiest matters.

We can have the law when people are educated enough to understand laws. Right now we have enough jahil maulvis and their followers who are ready to quote this law and kill at will. Turkey and Malaysia will not introduce this bill because they aren't crazy. Notice how all progressive Muslim countries like Turkey , Malaysia , Indonesia don't have death and lynchings over blasphemy. There are better things to do in life then worry about a man made law that has no place in a progressive society.
