What's new

Malaysia only has 4 aircraft to defend the airspace

Wow, you got so many daddies.
Wonder how many daddies, or is it sugar daddies you got.
Must be a lot judging what happened in Vietnam during the wars.
Poor thing you, your parent must have suffered from your too many to count daddies.
Another AGENT ORANGE victim here.
.
Whatever, when US kill CN in trade war, then we will purge all CNese in ASEAN like how we purged Cnese in Laos-Camp (Pol pot is CNese-Khmer)

.
The current administration is probably exaggerating again to make the previous administration look bad. Only 4 can fly?

Really!!! how come?
4/28 is very dismal maintenance and speaks volume of their airforce and its unprofessionalism. What reasons do they cite? Can't they get spares or what?

But it is a bit misleading report as they have 8 hornets and 15 hawks so a total of 27 A/Cs.

BTW, Malaysia should go for JF17s. It is a lot of fighter for a little money and Pakistan and Malaysia are good friends so no issues of supplies in foreseeable future.

It's the culture.

Singapore and Malaysia are part of the FPDA (Five Power Defence Arrangement) and I've heard of stories of their total lack of discipline and professionalism. I won't disclose the stories.

Over the years you read that their jet engines are stolen and sold to South America, submarines unable to sink, gangsters disguising as colonels and emptied their arms etc. These scandals you see on the news are probably just tip of the iceberg discovered.

That is not the point.
You calling your daddy Jap, daddy US, affectionately, and of course there were also daddy French and daddy Hong Kong that your parent had contact due to the war in Vietnam.
Your post make me wonder is it there were so many daddies, you don't know which is the biological daddy and so you just call all of them daddy.
Smart.

Malaysia has no existential threat, her army is for parade only. 4 active planes are enough.

And you believe that ?

Ha ha.... Sometimes it is good to under-rate ourselves so that those who boasted a lot will be in real surprise.

WE all know very well that North Vietnamese MIG-21 retreated to South China when US fighter jets went MIG hunting. They only came back to North Vietnam after American fighter jets flying back to base.

From Global Security.org:-
On 2 January 1967 US Air Force fighters set an intentional trap for the PAVN Air Force, destroying almost half of the PAVN's operational MiG-21 inventory. Hanoi once again ordered a stand-down in order for its pilots to receive better training. VNAF MiGs failed in their primary mission to stop US air attacks over North Vietnam during OPERATION ROLLING THUNDER. In fact, the VPAF fighter force sometimes retreated to China and stood down from combat operations due to heavy losses suffered at the hands of American fighter crews.

Mat Sabu: Shameful That Malaysia’s Defence Level is Lower Than Vietnam’s

View attachment 496426

Earlier this July, Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu revealed that the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is in a poor state as only four out of the 28 Russian fighters jets owned by the RMAF are able to actually fly.

Is this news attributed to defense minister confirmed ?? Or just some journalist putting it out

tidbits on the topics have been put out in the past as well

Bet they wish they had procured newer F/A-18s now =P
They wished to buy Chinese aircraft.

American is friendly with Singapore. US MIlitary jets sold to Malaysia are auto disable if targeted against Singapore fighter jets. This is revealed by the PM of Malaysia. Russian military aircraft has poor service support. This left China military product the best bet. Plus China aviation industry are flushed with money. Spares and support are always available as long as you have the cash.

Flying straight is ok, not pulling 9G.

US jet can fly to Thailand-PH where our Mig can not reach, so what is the problem when our jet fly to CN ??

If all US jet stationed in Saigon, then we would only need mortar and C4 to destroy the whole USAF .
