MAKS 2013.......indian angle

Didn't MMS promise more reforms by the end of this fiscal? Do you not think yesterday's land acquisition bill outcome is a positive sigh for the road ahead wrt to paving the way for other bills/policies?
@Dillinger

Also what is going on with FDI in multi-brand retail? There was a lot of hype last year then nothing.

noooooooooo.........its the opposite

1)land at the rural areas will have to be acquired at 4 times the market rate

2)at urban areas at 2 times the market rate

3)for land acquisition u need permission of atleast 80% ppl of tht area!!!

it means........................no land acquisition!!as price will be too high

See things are not at all good here..............who will buy such costly land here and set up a factory when far cheaper land and better infrastructure already exists in china, vietnam, singapore, malaysia or indonesia??

heck this will make land pricier than in USA or UK!!!

REGARDING FDI IN MULTI BRAND

It will totally destroy the already established retailers here and promote more consumption which we don't need right now

We need more industry and not shops selling goods

Most of its products(>80%) will be imports causing further rise in current account deficit(CAD) and our current level is already all time high at 90 billion dollars!!

Only increase in exports can save us but alas!!we have nothing to export except garments and fruits:pissed:

The An-70 wins on all counts, and 2 times cheaper. In the 90's Ukraine, Russia and Europe were going to create a joint aircraft based An70 - work was carried out for several years and have successfully moved. But in the end the Europeans refused - most likely under pressure from the U.S. and European business.
And now they have A400.

All counts?

Cruise Speed
A400: 780 km/h
A70: 750 km/h (max speed 780 km/h)

Besides... Russia's internal politics and relation with Ukraine
In October 1997, the German defence minister Volker Rühe announced the intention to study whether the An-70 could be the basis for the FLA/Airbus A400M. Evaluation was in competition with the newly designed, paper-only A400M proposed by Airbus Military Company. The An-70 participation in the 1998–2000 tender process for the FLA was very successful and was the best bid from a financial, technical and operational point of view.[citation needed] The plane was checked thoroughly by MBB Munich, and presented to Air Transport Command in Cologne after Le Bourget airshow in 1999.[citation needed] However, for political reasons and under pressure both from the newly founded EADS company and the French government, the A400M was selected for the FLA.[citation needed] The French claimed that their projected Airbus A400M, although more expensive, would have lower life cycle costs (LCCs) than the An-70. Antonov lost this opportunity to sell its An-70 to Western European nations and to make matters worse, shortly after, the second An-70 prototype made a crash landing on its belly in January 2001 after losing power in two engines on take-off during cold weather testing in Omsk, and was severely damaged.

In April 2006 Russia announced its complete withdrawal from the project. The head of the Russian Air Force, Vladimir Mikhaylov, claimed that the An-70 has grown into a heavy, expensive cargo plane. The Russian military plans to use the Ilyushin Il-76MF, which reportedly costs half as much as the An-70. After the Orange Revolution in late 2004, and with Ukraine openly aiming for NATO membership, political will for the project evaporated. Russia has provided around 60 percent of the estimated $5 billion invested in the project to date

Russia resumed cooperation and restored funding on the An-70 project in late 2009

A requirement for 60 An-70s was included in Russia's 2011–2020 national armament programme when it was issued in December 2010

Some more interesting development coming from maks 2013
A sensational piece of news came from Boris Obnosov, General Director of Russia’s Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (TRV), who told reporters that the French Rafale jets that won an Indian Air Force tender may be equipped with Russian missiles. The TRV is ready to adapt Russian missiles for Rafales. The company showcased a wide range of new weapons. Some have already completed ultimate tests, while others are currently being tested.
"These include long, medium and short-range air-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles, guided aviation bombs and a large spectrum of submarine weapons. By their performance characteristics they are as good as if not better than best Western analogues," he said.
The TRV is already working on new missiles for the PAK DA long-distance stealth bombers. But while the latter aircraft are only just being designed, super maneuverable fifth-generation T-50 jet fighters can be seen performing low-altitude demo flights over Zhukovsky these days.

Two new mig service centers are coming up in India.

On Wednesday, the MiG fighter jet maker signed two additional contracts with India worth a total $55 million. They are part of a general contract with India's air force. Under the first, $43 million contract, a servicing center will be established in India for maintenance and repair of Zhuk-ME on-board radars, MiG representatives said. The second, $12 million contract provides for the creation in India of a servicing center for modernized MiG-29UPG fighter jets.
Russia will deliver six MiG-29K Fulcrum "generation 4++" fighters to India this year as part of a 2010 contract for 29 planes worth $1.5 billion, MiG CEO Sergei Korotkov said. India currently has 21 aircraft. Under the contract, MiG is to deliver 29 planes before 2015, Korotkov said. Last year four aircraft were delivered and one has been delivered so far this year, he added.
