Don't believe them. Iranian oilfields are way to the west and the proximate region of Iran has no oil. It is dry. And this whole idea of oil flowing down [in practice not in theory] is dumber than dumb. Laughable. Water car sounds more plausible!

The nearest oil wells in Iran are about 400 miles west and belong to the same cluster as UAE, Bahrain, Qatar. Hell if this was true we could 'pinch' UAE oil by simply drilling well deep under the sea and all the oil from Oman, UAE, Iran would flow into it.

Even if we don't export that oil, we can cut the oil imports worth billions of dollars from KSA & other Arab countries. Considering that oil accounts for nearly 30% of our imports. We can steer away our country from bankruptcy & pay back all our loans in a matter of years.

Safest option is to develop your own industry for extracting natural resources but this is a daunting task for us - our R&D output is pathetic to say the least.

Secondly, we cannot let paranoia cloud our judgement. We should award contract of a project [of national interest] to a company on the basis of its international repute, professionalism and relevant expertise.

Consider the example of Intel. Its products are high quality on average and its processors are unparalleled. If a buy a computer, I will consider a system with a processor from Intel. I would not consider an unreliable alternative.

Americans pioneered Shale oil extraction, and their experience in this domain is unparalleled. No harm in hiring an American firm to extract shale oil for us with reasonable terms & conditions.

We did not hire US State Department to extract Shale oil for us.

Hussain Haqqani and PML(N) are responsible for the existing political climate. PTI can fix it.

We should honor existing contract at minimum. When it is complete, we can look for alternatives but Shale oil extraction is a difficult and hazardous affair, my friend. Alternatives key chakr mein nuqsaan naa hoo yaa suboptimal output nah ho.
