This visit is a good indicator, with good timing along with relevant assets which show what we desired.

Good to see the guy in orange. A good friend of mine, met him about three years back, he was doing solo aerobatics...
He's one of the few in PAF who has an amazing career. Great guy.

We now have mk3 versions with Bolide missiles. Excellent point defence system.
Back in 2011 - when the Army AD system was being developed on those “arcade machines” in the office by another team - there were some simulated weapon range circles that would overlap the bolide which would made the bolide engagement cone look like a little chip on a circle.

But then back then it was santro and santro would remember the designation of that system.

As the India-China face-off along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh remains unresolved, the PAF chief visited the base at Skardu where he addressed his troops.

His visit comes at a time when China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops remain in an eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation with Indian soldiers along the LAC in Ladakh.

During his visit, Air Chief was also briefed on the ongoing infrastructure development works at the base. He appreciated operational preparedness of the base personnel and expressed his satisfaction over the pace of developmental works.

Addressing base personnel, the Air Chief stated that PAF is fully cognizant of the geostrategic developments in the region. He said that the aggressive military procurements by the enemy are not going unnoticed and necessary measures are in place to ensure the balance of military power in the conventional domain as well.

The Air Chief assured the nation that PAF alongside its sister services is ever ready to give a befitting response to any misadventure by the adversary.

Giraffe Radar deployed at Skardu Airbase, depending on the type, these radars have a range of between 10 to 470 kilometres and search height of up to 40,000 Meters.

I have been corrected by none other than one of the pilots present at the base.

''This is not giraffe radar, this is MPDR-90 hooked up to with the digital automated air defence network of Pakistan''!!

Yeah, again, as one of our AD officer who operates it states, almost all radars with us are MPDRs, MPDR is basically a technology...... Multiple pulses transmitted and received working on doppler effect..... which is used by several radar brands.

... That's why I didn't correct you before.
