RBS 70 ?
where is SAM?Exactly, that is a Giraffe radar. In our army, its deployed normally alongside one of our SAM systems whereby this radar provides target data.
He's one of the few in PAF who has an amazing career. Great guy.This visit is a good indicator, with good timing along with relevant assets which show what we desired.
Good to see the guy in orange. A good friend of mine, met him about three years back, he was doing solo aerobatics...
where is SAM?
Back in 2011 - when the Army AD system was being developed on those “arcade machines” in the office by another team - there were some simulated weapon range circles that would overlap the bolide which would made the bolide engagement cone look like a little chip on a circle.We now have mk3 versions with Bolide missiles. Excellent point defence system.
Giraffe Radar deployed at Skardu Airbase, depending on the type, these radars have a range of between 10 to 470 kilometres and search height of up to 40,000 Meters.

I have been corrected by none other than one of the pilots present at the base.
''This is not giraffe radar, this is MPDR-90 hooked up to with the digital automated air defence network of Pakistan''!!
@PanzerKiel
did you fly the F-6?This is not Giraffe, which are/were used by Army AD. This is an MPDR45. Your data on Giraffe maybe wrong.

But then back then it was santro and santro would remember the designation of that system.
