Unless you find a problem with Halal food and no problem with eating blood which ANY microbiologist will tell you is not healthy ....I dont see whats the strong opposition...I thought Swedes would reason with science not with racism

Swedes have no reason to forcibly be fed with Halal, i.e. non-bacon food. Why should they stop eating bacon just to make a few Muslim students happy?

Yeah, students shouldn't be forced to eat Halal meat. Just have the parents pack it in lunches. But if the students (non-muslim ones) and school governors/principal or equivalents don't mind having it as part of their cafeteria menu, it shouldn't be a problem, as long as it's labelled as such and students know what they're eating.

Yes, I mean what he said was that all students must be aware that they are force fed with Halal food. I know many ordinary Norwegians here who hate any food without bacon, so of course ordinary swedes must get bacon food in school which is not suitable for Muslim children who would rather eat halal.

Well there are a few reasons.....Many of the Muslims are refugees while in Norway MANY were working class rather than refugee...

Swedes have no reason to forcibly be fed with Halal, i.e. non-bacon food. Why should they stop eating bacon just to make a few Muslim students happy?

No one said they should....I didnt know that scenario as it is not mentioned that the canteen turned ALL HALAL and removed other choices....

Chinese dont argue about slaughter issues nor make a fuss about the technology....

Nor have I heard them complain if their meat has been said ALLAH HU AKHBAR or not....I had a Chinese flatmate who asked me what is halal meat I gave her a full definition and she ended up saying meat in her part of China is halal coz they drain the blood

LOL but swedish food is rubbish they need Curry Hot spicy curry not the rubbish thats served up there .
Same for all those cold meat eating countries .Luckily Muslims arrived in the U.K & changed the face of British Cuisine otherwise the brits would still be eating there bland rubbish .boiled potatoes,cabbage & one thin slice of meat .

I doubt it though....I am guessing the guy was suffering from islamophobia stroke....But if the canteen really was serving all halal...then it is the canteen's responsibility to tell and children/ parents and also I am sure the canteen knows more about rules than a politicians who wants to strike some brownies ....After all it is Sweden not Somalia!

The ideal solution is simple: Make one or two dishes in the menu Halal and label them as such. Leave all the other dishes the way they are for non-Muslim Swedes.

I know for a fact that's the way it is in a lot of British schools, nobody has any problems with it here. In fact, non-Muslim students tend to flock towards the Halal dishes because they generally are along the lines of ''Chicken Tikka'' or ''Chicken Kebab'' - British people love those. I suppose it's because it's different from what they usually eat, and besides, who wouldn't prefer Chicken Tikka to a dull, simple boiled chicken and cabbage?

The Halal thing never bothers them.

The Wikipedia article isn't detailed at all. Makes general statements like:
''the Pakistani Norwegian community as a whole is generally considered to be well-integrated into Norwegian culture''.

What I meant was, what exactly does integration entail? As in, is it about dressing, appearance, political views, or adopting Norwegian culture, or something along those lines. You'd obviously know better since you live in Norway.

It always helps to have a personal narrative as opposed to Wikipedia articles.

Agree with the second part of your post. I don't think we should force Halal on non Muslims. We should consider what the Jews in Europe do, Kosher food is sent by parents in packed lunches.

You do know Kosher is more strict than Halal....they have special trained people to butcher not every tom dick and harry can do that....they cant mix certain meat and other laws make it complex they dont rely on any other person to prepare their food...

You do know Kosher is more strict than Halal....they have special trained people to butcher not every tom dick and harry can do that....they cant mix certain meat and other laws make it complex they dont rely on any other person to prepare their food...

I actually had to eat Kosher a long time ago because there was no Halal back when I was a international student. The only Halal store with on the other end of the city on the DLR, I couldn't be arsed travelling all that way for some chicken. You really aught to try Kosher Sausages someday.
