What are you talking about ? First of all the Altay is just a copy of the K2 Black Panther. Also Turkey is currently placing Altay turrets on Leo 2 hulls because their Altay project lacks an engine. The South Koreans haven't been able to provide Turkey with an engine because the vital components come from Germany and the Germans refuse to provide Turkey with parts. This is actually what caused Turkey to invest in the K2, because the Germans would not sell them parts for their LEO 2s. Anyways, most recently their solution was to import engines from Ukraine, however we all know what happened to that plan. So right now they're stuck.
Btw the T-90 was initially an upgrade of the T-72. It was referred to as the T-72BU, later the T-88 and finally the T-90. Iran has an upgrade program for the T-72 but the upgraded T-72s differentiate from the Karrar tanks, which are being built from the ground up. The latest cannon Iran uses on the Karrar can actually fire ATGMs and advanced projectiles at targets 5 KM away and Iran can produce the tank for pennies on the dollar compared to importing. So it's a win win for Iran.

No its actually the exact opposite lmao. Karrar has an older slightly modernized T-72S hull but a new turret. A new hull (like the Altay has) would go a long way
