What's new

Made in India Vehicles

Tata's Pixel, Megapixel and this new Nexon and Racemo are not only dying to g electric, along with a few Tata's they can be the Co.'s killer app.'s Globally. With Ratan back @ Tata, and Tata Motors making good money; throw in Modi's India and Tata should leverage the electric discontinuity in the market to totally throw itself into the e-mobility world.

The Indian market itself will support it till it grows up into a serious Global e-player. Using this ideology with help form it's sub JLR, Tata Motors can leapfrog it's truck legacy in 1 clean shot.

They are of course preparing for BNVSAP which starts this year and will be fully in force by 2019. No one wants to lose major market share that they have earned through much toil and investment (Especially when they are exporting to much higher safety standards already).

Cross between desi dune buggy on steroids and Ford Mustang; 100 % original.
Tata must put this into batch production to up it's stock.

Priced around 5 Lakhs, small car as it is, will sell all the way to full production.

Production Ready Tata Nexon

Tata signs pact with Volkswagen, Skoda

Tata Motors, as part of the turnaround strategy of its passenger vehicles business, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Volkswagen Group and Skoda for a long-term partnership and to explore strategic alliance opportunities for joint development of products in India.

The agreement was signed by Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD of Tata Motors, Matthias Mueller, CEO of Volkswagen AG and Bernhard Maier, CEO of Skoda Auto at Geneva.

The MoU spells out the scope and objectives to reach an agreement on the modalities and terms of a long-term cooperation in identified areas of partnership.

Skoda Auto will take the lead on behalf of the Volkswagen Group to drive forward work towards development of vehicle concepts in the economy segment, according to a joint statement by the companies.

Announcing the alliance, Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD of Tata Motors said, “We strongly believe that both the companies, by working together, can leverage from each other’s strengths to create synergies and develop smart, innovative solutions for the Indian and overseas market.

‘FutuReady’

“This is in alignment with Tata Motors’ efforts to make itself ‘FutuReady’ by embracing new technologies, fostering higher platform efficiency and offering solutions that connect with the aspirations of our customers.”

Bernhard Maier, CEO of Škoda Auto said: “Together with Tata, we will be specifying the concrete opportunities for collaboration over the coming months.”

Tata Motors and Skoda Auto will detail out the guiding principles and terms of co-operation in the next few months.

After completion of definitive agreements, the two companies will start joint development work and joint value-chain activities.

Based on joint work, Tata Motors would introduce products in the Indian market, starting calendar year 2019.

Tata Motors also has a joint venture with Fiat Automobiles and both companies jointly manufacture Tata and Fiat cars as well as engines and transmission systems at the Ranjangaon plant near Pune.

Ugly as f...
Tata still thinks its mfg trucks.
Mahindra understood what a passenger car should be and started with a clean slate for its vehicles.
Tata is still modifying its initial hatchback and trying to impress the customers.

Honestly, i think its underpowered more than ugly for its price range of INR 4-6.5L.

Here is video of 2017 Ford ecosport, fully manufactured in India. Sorry for armature review but cover almost everything.

Mahindra & Ford mulling over a technical partnership – Report
Posted on: Mar 16, 2017 - 3:22pm IST

Primarily the focus will be on joint development of products and platforms.

Times of India reports that Mahindra and Ford are mulling over a global alliance that will primarily focus on joint technology, product and component development. The erstwhile partners who collaborated in the 1990s to launch the Ford Escort in India, are yet to confirm such a partnership in the works, but according to TOI’s source:

Talks are at a very preliminary stage and the contours of the discussion are still hazy.
The partnership with one of America’s biggest car manufacturers will help Mahindra take a step towards its ambitions of establishing operations in the U.S.
TOI’s sources believe that if the partnership comes into fruition, both manufacturers could release a whole new range of global utility and sports utility vehicles as well as electric vehicles. Mahindra’s newly established Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) will play a crucial role in the partnership with Ford.

The partnership with one of America’s biggest car manufacturers will also help Mahindra take a step towards its ambitions of establishing operations in the U.S, as well as in other markets across the globe. Mahindra’s first product is reported to be an off-roader developed by MNATC, so expect Ford to help with the development, should the partnership receive a green light.
If the partnership comes into fruition, both manufacturers could release a whole new range of global utility and sports utility vehicles as well as electric vehicles.

Ford and Mahindra are the latest auto manufacturers mulling over a technical partnership. Last week, VW and Tata Motors signed an MoU announcing their technical partnership, while in February, Japanese heavyweights Toyota and Suzuki signed a similar partnership with the CEOs of the companies visiting India to brief the Prime Minister about the cooperation.

Outsourcing ?

Ford should keep it's premium brands @ home in the US, and peddle off other Global small-to-mid-to-new launches, re-design and modifications, marketing, mgmt. and support to Mahindra but retain control. With a brand like Ford, the main job is to retain, burnish and amplify brand.
