Made in India Vehicles

I own a 200NS, and same here. The bike has lotta power, and its full potential cant really be unleashed on Indian roads. Even if I hit 100kmph, I HAVE to slowed down rapidly in the next 2 seconds because a jaywalker runs across the road, or a wild pothole appears, or a vehicle just veers onto my path without warning. MORONS!

Duke 390/Pulsar 390?! I hope India makes a law which makes it mandatory to go to riding schools to drive 35bhp+ bikes. ATGATT mandatory too for 20bhp+?

For the guy who said more people on Activa get injured than people on sporty bikes.... dude... if u fall from a 8bhp vehicle, all u get are scratches and bruises. Fall from a 20bhp bike at 100kmph, we gotta mop your brains off the road(thanks to you morons not wearing helmets :hitwall:)

Instead of discouraging powerful bikes, encourage road discipline in Indians.

PS: 'You' refers to you morons who drive like you have 9 lives :hitwall:

^

Phew, some of you 'Indians', chillum-chilli ... something else. Like a hybrid American-Brit tranny on a skew.

On at technical note, it's retarded that steel rich China, India, Russia, Brazil and S. Africa have yet to takeover the auto world. Over 100 yrs. old auto business is no rocket science.

A piece of my mind - Try not to miss the woods for the trees, ok!

Peace out.

BMW and TVS Motor ink deal to jointly develop sub-500cc motorcycles

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

German automobile group BMW and India's two- and three-wheeler-maker TVS Motor Company will jointly develop sub-500cc motorcycles to be sold under the respective company badges, said company officials.

"We will enter into below 500cc motorcycles Asian market. BMW and TVS Motor have signed a long term cooperation agreement," Stephan Schaller, president, BMW Motorrad, told reporters here.

Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Motor, said the first bike will be rolled out in 2015 and there is no equity participation by either of the two companies, or there will be a royalty payment.

He said TVS Motor would invest around Euro 20 million to develop and roll out the vehicles under this cooperation agreement.

Schaller and Srinivasan parried questions on the kind of sub-500cc models they would develop but said the models would be sold globally under their respective brands.

While Srinivasan said the company would make the proposed vehicles at its plants located in Hosur or Mysore, BMW's Schaller said the company would produce the bikes at its Berlin factory.

Schaller said BMW group is realigning its premium two-wheeler business and part of that is the launch of an electric scooter next year.

Srinivasan said the German group looks at TVS Motor for its ability to develop small motorcycles, supply chain and mass production.

The agreement involves the two companies each offering their own vehicle derivatives, which will be sold through their own distribution channels in India and across the globe.

China to get Yamaha’s made-in-India bikes

In perhaps the first instance of a major made-in-India auto product making its way to the dragon land, Yamaha is set to drive in locally-manufactured low-cost motorcycles and scooters to China that would be the company's lowest-priced vehicles in the country.

The Japanese two-wheeler major is planning to make India a hub for development as well as manufacturing of lowcost products and plans to launch a sub- $500 (under Rs 27,000) scooter and motorcycle , which would be its cheapest two-wheeler globally and sold across volume-laden markets such as China, Africa and Latin America.

"We are in the process of developing low-cost products from India and these would be sold across major markets, including China," Yuh Motoyama , Yamaha's senior GM (engineering section — motorcycle business operations ), told TOIhere. Motoyama said the products are currently under development and the Indian R&D is playing the lead role in this, with assistance from headquarter Japan.

Tata needs to look up on build quality and service. the no. of lemons per 100 cars will be 15-20 in case of tata! how will you resolve this TATA? your solutions to issues is replacing parts under warranty. is that enough? you need complete REsolution of problems for eg: poor ac cooling of vista cars due to design flaws(dashboard gets cooled instead of passenger compartment).

this is the reason why a great VFM product like ARIA failed! and even with a cheap price tag there are only few takers! why? Tata's perception among common men are cheap taxi car makers. they have to save from this image.

tatas does not recall neither fix the niggles of the first batch of vehicles. the customer has to bear the brunt.
tata cars are better than suzuki but are lagging because of build quality and pathetic service.

Bajaj Auto, on Wednesday, said it had launched a premium motorcycle Ninja 300 from its partner Kawasaki, priced at Rs.3.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

“Bajaj Auto today announced the launch of the highly anticipated Kawasaki Ninja 300,” the Pune-based company said in a statement.

In India, the new bike will be sold and serviced through Bajaj Auto’s Probiking stores, it added.

Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said: “We conceived Bajaj Probiking eight years ago with the objective of making it the automatic destination for bike enthusiasts looking for sports bikes. In addition to the KTM range, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a step further in realising that objective.”

The Ninja 300 replaces and improves upon the existing Ninja 250R, the statement said.
