Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC assumed Office as Indian Army - 40th Vice Chief of Army Staff on Sunday, 1st September 2019 after 39th Indian Army - Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, ADC Completed His Term.

On Monday, 16th December 2019 Indian Army – 40th Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC has been Appointed as Indian Army - 28th Chief of Army Staff and will Assume “The Office” from Tuesday Afternoon of 31st December 2019 after Indian Army - Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee, 27th Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC Completes His Term.
