Discrimination is nothing new.

The Shias are discriminated in a Sunni majority or a Sunni is discriminated in a Shia majority. And it is a big issue there too and many are being killed too!

My point is even with such stringent acts, the lower caste is still oppressed.
There are enough people in England to oppose such oppression against irish, but no, it is not a big issue here any more.
You cant just show other discriminations to divert attention.
I have seen upper caste people openly making bad remarks against lower caste people publicly. In my own ancestral village, no lower caste people can come inside our house. (and muslims are lower caste too in my district)
This may not be prevalent in cities, but not everybody live in cities.
