A survey conducted by the Gandhinagar collectorate officials showed 107 temples having illegally come up along the main roads and about 312 in the interior areas of various sectors. All of these will be removed.

I have nothing against Modi, consider him to a be a good leader. I have everything thing against the radicalization of India's population. But you are not smart enough to see beyond your own petty bigotry and understanding of the world it seems, further proof being you brining up Mosques and Churches.. which in my view if illegal also need to be demolished.

You are right brother. If there are illegal structures, be it Temple, Mosque or Church, it should be demolished. India is much better if all the communities are not radicalized. Any form of radicalization in any religion is not good for the nation.

But when it becomes a growing national phenomenon, regardless of which religion it belongs to.. it threatens the very fabric of the nation unless it is changed entirely. The only way radicals can survive in a multi cultural and multi religious society like India is if it breaks up further and creates a Saudi like Hindu only state.. or it takes an even more sinister route like Nazi Germany and wipes out the other religious minorities. That has never been the mentality of the people of the subcontinent but like a disease it grips them much faster; Pakistan is already suffering the effects of this disease and it would be appalling that India falls into the same with just a different flavour to counter it.

The opinion is divided among older expats here as well. It seems they have a better understanding of his true standing and while they appreciate his economic uplift prowess, they dismiss his "Hindutva" as nothing more than political gimmickry to keep his seat and consider those that follow him for it as complete idiots.

everyone has their hand dirty here , so called secular parties minority appeasement led to radicalization of hindus so blaming modi or BJP for it doesn't make sense . RSS was always there in india the support for it has increased only in the last few years after hindus saw a clear bias against them .

People generally in india take their religion way too seriously , i saw a masjid being constructed in a famous tourist spot in kerala , who constructs a masjid on a beach ? so many illegal religious structures have come up that way in the last decade . Shouldn't we have strict rules against it after all this space could be used for something better , you guys think modi is a hindutva poster boy while he demolished illegally constructed temples in his state , now if he tries to do the same with churches and masjids seculars will just have an heart attack .
